I'm actually not convinced Joe will ever get called up or was ever meant to. It's very possible he doesn't want to tour with WWE full time.

Already want to go watch DIY/Revival again.
I'm not normally one to say "your opinion is wrong" if you like/don't like something but holy shit - if you don't like that match you may as well just stop watching wrestling as you can't extract any joy out of it. That match had everything. |

For those of you who feel that I am too cynical these days, I'd just like to submit my enjoyment of this show as evidence to the contrary. This was pro-wrestling done right.
* Bobby Roode's glorious entrance makes him such a star. He should be the current RAW World Champion; not Kevin Owens. Makes no sense for a corporation to back Kevin Owens as champion when they couldn't get behind indy dirt boy, Daniel Bryan a few years ago. Roode has got all the tools. * Tye Dillinger is wonderful. Everyone who comes out of NXT talks about what a gem he is and now he has finally spread his wings and is the eagle he was meant to be. Soar, Dillinger, soar. * I actually nodded off a bit during the actual Roode vs. Dillinger match, but I think that's on me. Roode actually works fucking heel! What a brilliant man! Dillinger knows how to work like a babyface too. Good stuff. * TM61 surprised me. I've heard they've been a lot of nothing since arriving in NXT, but they showed up here. Some impressive spots and power moves from them. The Authors are pretty good for giant D'Lo Brown wannabes too. I was bummed out when The Authors won, but it makes sense. They did their job. * DIY vs. The Revival was tremendous. Dash & Dawson are actually brilliant. Gargano & Ciampa are crisp and exciting. I'm happy for them to have this moment before dropping the belts to the AOP. * The Women's Title match was good. It didn't try to do too much and told a story. Mickie James bumped like a fucker. The "Asuka is a cocky bitch" story is going to lead to her getting humbled by Ember Moon, which will be glorious. * I liked the main event. Felt like a real worked match. I kind of hate Joe kicking out of the Kinshasa, but I do like him winning back the belt. Nakamura's glory was in the win, but I don't particularly want to see a prolonged reign, and this adds a little bit of tragedy to his story anyway. Plus, I've been calling Triple H vs. Nakamura at Mania for some time now. If they're going to get Nakamura on the main roster in time for Mania, they need to wrap up this storyline with Joe. It's probably to just keep spinning wheels in NXT, but I'd like to think there is some grand design behind this. I predict Joe to successfully defend at Takeover San Antonio and to then move onto Bobby Roode at Takeover Mania, who they aren't going to be able to keep the crowd away from. |

I guess we didn't have to sit through Goldberg. Had to work so I taped Takeover. Am going to watch it now.

You could run an angle where Shinsuke wants to move up, but Triple H wants to keep Nakamura for "his brand", and build the animosity between them from there.

I'll respond to you, Fignuts:
You don't need to make it complicated. The WWE loves their "fantasy warefare" buzz word right now. It's The King of the Kings vs. The King of Strong Style. But if you absolutely must have a feud going, you can have Nakamura outshine Triple H at an NXT conference, or you can have Nakamura finally get given his main roster contract signing only for the segment to end with a kick, wham, Pedigree. "You're opponenet is going to be...me." Nakamura could refuse to join The Authority or says something that is perceived as out-of-line by Stephanie McMahon or Kevin Owens. Nakamura could toss Triple H from the Royal Rumble. Aurora-Rose's favorite wrestler could be Shinsuke Nakamura. It doesn't need to be super-complicated. It's pro-wrestling -- you book that shit. |

I mean sure they could do anything to get to HHH vs Nak, but it seems about 2-3 years premature. |

Triple H is 47 years old. I don't doubt that he can stay in excellent shape as he only needs to wrestle a few times a year, but everybody has a point where they realize they just can't go like they used to and eventually even Trips will get to that point I'm sure.
For that matter, Nakamura will be 37 by next WrestleMania, has a ton of mileage on him working a hard hitting style in Japan and will eventually be on the main roster with a WWE schedule that's even more strenuous. I just think if that's a program they want to run it would be a good idea to try to figure out a way to get to it in the next year or so. |

I think better use would be debut Nak at Mania and have him beat one of the secondary champions (IC or US). Then you do a build to the world title for the next year's Mania. Assuming he gets over. |

Well, No Revival on Raw or Smackdown. Why did they drop the titles to team ICW then?

Because it was a good moment, a good match, DIY is a good team, and it was a good title change?

The Revival will be main roster soon enough. Just give it time. Man, what I wouldn't give for the WWE to make up with Jim Cornette to bring him back as their manager. You know, he probably would do it for a Midnight Express Hall of Fame induction and to help out those guys in the tag division.
