I heard Ryan Clark's 2 hour WZR Broadcast last night, and it wasn't very good. He and the other guy spent the first 30 minutes talking about what they did during the weekend. The next 30 minutes were spent talking about JTG's tweets, and the last hour was spent talking about Roddy Piper (yes, this shit's still being talked about).

Will WWE Ever go back to WWF??
So WWE patching things up with WWF aka World Wildlife Fund.
Do you think WWE would try to buy out the rights to the name WWF. And use it full time like they did in the past?. Also have they had more success with WWF or WWE????. |

I doubt it.
But who knows? I still haven't gotten used to "World Wrestling Entertainment". It just doesn't sound as "sexy" as "World Wrestling Federation". |

During the era of "sports entertainment" I don't think so.
If they ever get the movie division successful though, they MIGHT have some interest in using "WWF" again for the wrestling. But the overall company will NEVER go back to WWF again. |

Why would they? They've established WWE as a viable brand. The shift might do more harm than good.

Can't believe people are still recycling the whole "WWF was better than WWE" thing. I got use to the term WWE like, way back in fucking 2003 or something. Who cares about "WWF" anymore.

A] I would like to see that nature conservancy fund change it's name, and let WWE get the full rights to the initials back.
B] WWE could still be used as the corporate company name, with the WWF being the TV identity. C] The initials 'WWF' and the words 'World Wrestling Federation' roll off the tounge more naturally and organically than the initials 'WWE' and the words 'World Wrestling Entertainment'. And if regaining the initials, and the right to speak them on TV, ever happened, it would likely come with a heavy price...about $100,000,000 minimum for it to happen. =P |

No. WWE is more than just wrestling now. Going back to WWF would sound dumb.

No considering if they wanted to have gone back to the old WWF, it would have been done early on instead of having to spend all that money blurring and re-edit tons of footage for tv and dvd releases.
No way the Wildlife Fund just gives up their initials considering they owned them first and almost 20 years before the WWE had them. The WWE is older than the Fund but not in the name itself. |

Even wrestling fans were saying WWF sometimes when the change happened, but because we continued to watch the WWE after the name change and without us realising it, we slowly taught ourselves that the name "WWE" was correct and "WWF" was wrong. So now, saying "WWE" feels right, whereas saying "WWF" feels wrong, unless we're referring to the past. |

I see it as WWF before the mergers, but afterwards it became WCW+ECW+WWF=WWE.

I still watch it every now and again to this day. But back in 97
Was when I taped every episode of Raw and the ppv's. up until the late 2000s WWF Was at it's peak, then I think when it became to popular, World Widelife Fund got greedy and jealous, and decided to take action. hoping to crumble WWF.. But it never happened WWE Became a product on it's own. WWF Had it's Attitude Era WWE Has it's PG Era Of course if WWE had the chance to go back to WWF it would probably be more :S than anything to new fans, of the product. |

What good would going back to the WWF name do after more than ten years of establishing WWE? Most people here are talking about the differences between the WWF product and the WWE product. Changing the name is not going to change the product at all.

The only good it would do is they can stop annoyingly blurring selective "WWF" signs, banners, mic covers, ring aprons, etc.
But then, they'll still do things like overdub some wrestler themes with either shit producion songs or a WWE theme they weren't even close to using at that time, redact events containing Chris Benoit, grey the screen when there is a lot of blood in a recap, and pipe in pops or boos accordingly even if the actual moment didn't produce the desired results. In other words, it would be a small consolation in being able to correct history that comes with what is sure to be a hefty price tag. And not too many people who SHOULD be bugged by the inital thing even are anymore for it to be a factor. |
