Deadly Premonition finally coming to Western PS3's in fancy Directors Cut format - NOW ON STEAM GREENLIGHT!
http://www.destructoid.com/deadly-pr...3-223467.phtml
If you don't get this, you are dead to me. It even has Move support! I won't even judge you for wanting to play this with motion controls, the story and random dialogue are more than worth it. If you grab this and don't get Lollipop chainsaw, I'll forgive you more. |

Picked this up back in January. Just waiting for it to come up in the rotation.

How long is this game? I've just started, attempting to finish this over the weekend, and I really want to play other things.

Took me about 60 hours, but I did most of the side-quests and was having too much fun hearing the two main characters discussing movies.
From what I've read, can probably bang it out in about 10-20 if you want. You might miss a lot of delightful things though and there's not much better out there to play anyway. |

It's like if David Lynch directed a video-game.

Pretty much. The Japanese guy who directed the whole thing said Twin Peaks was a massive influence. It is amazing, probably finished it about 5 times.

I'm watching the cut-scenes instead since I hear the actual game controls are horrible.

I'm sure this game is weird enough if I just stick to the main missions.
Tell me what I missed with the sidequest stuff, Hasney |

I feel like I'm missing a lot of the enjoyment by having never seen Twin Peaks. It's on Netflix but I want to finish Deadly Premonition over the weekend.

Only first saw Twin Peaks a year or two ago, but it's a pretty cool show and the only reason I'm considering purchasing this.

As for side-quests, it's all character development really. You learn a lot about the town and why it is like it is. |

As for the rest of you... You have $13 burning a hole in your pocket, don't you? Do it. Do it.

Hours played: 15
No way. Seems like 35 or so. That can't be right. Maybe that's literally "play" time and doesn't include cutscenes. |

Got this for xbox360 recently. Maybe will trade this and amular for the new version. Been playing amular for a while and just never had that moment where I was sold.witcher 2 however got me as soon as I was in flotsam.

The guy who created the game calls the driving sections boring. Bizarre. I need to check this out. |

May give it a shot again. |

Hasney, I'm not going to read all the stuff about it in video game technobabble that I won't understand. What's different about this? Is it worth me picking it up?

It's got a new prologue and a branching ending system as well as updated graphics and controls.
If you're as insane as me, it's worth it. For people who have never played it or don't have a 360, this is worth it. For you... Eh. It's coming out at £40 by the looks of it. It's out tomorrow, leave it a week and look at the new cutscenes on YouTube or something. |

Ah right okay. If I ever feel nostalgic for the game in the future I'll probably pick up this version then cause the controls were a bit horrific at times.

Hey Hasney, this doesn't merit another thread and apparently bringing things up via PM is "bad" or something, so let me just ask your thoughts on the folks behind DP being involved in Drakengard 3.
Considering how screwed up the first game was (don't know about the second), I'm kind of wondering if this may end up being some sort of cult game right down your alley. Alternatively, it may be total shit, but someone made the link for me the other day and then this thread got bumped. |

I never played the second one either, but the first one was ace even if it confused the fuck out of me at the time. Having just looked up the story on Wiki, it's no wonder I was confused since they just ripped out the incest and the pedo for the English version and the girl who killed herself in the game did so because of the incest instead of just randomly.
I'll keep my eye on it. Access Games have done a lot of wank and it's only Swerys mind that saved Deadly Premonition from mediocrity and he's not involved in 3. Still glad they're making a new one at all though. |

I just looked at this on Amazon and some of the reviewers state that it suffers from terrible lagging, and I was wondering if this was the case?
