He's a basketball player. Here I was thinking you were referring to a Nationals player. They have a Tony?

Curt Schilling's cancer was from chewing. Ugh such a hard habit to kick, from first hand experience.

Giants win their protest against the Cubs with the groundscrew/tarp snafu.
They'll pick things up Thursday afternoon, bottom of the 5th, Cubs up 2-0. The historical fact here is that this is the first successful protest since '86. |

Os won tonight the game I went to 4-3 for the sweep. 15,000 people announced and I dare say at least half were O's fans. Wasn't really impressed with the ballpark. Shitty location really and it has like no "character" to it. Will say that everyone in Chicago has been awesome so far, much better than my trips to NY and Boston. |

Garrett Richards suffered a pretty serious knee injury while covering 1B yesterday. Hate the Angels but that sucks, he was having a fantastic year.

Best case scenario is him returning around the same time everyone else starts their pre-Spring Training routines while worst case is missing a month or two next season. |

Yankees avoid the sweep against the George Springer-less Houston Astros.
Heh. McCarthy went the distance. 4-hit shutout. Not bad. |

David Price throws a complete game 1-hit 9K no walks and 1 unearned run game... and loses.
First time a pitcher's thrown such a game since 1914. This Tigers team is maddening lately. |

Back in October of2012 the O's beat James Shields / Rays 1-0 on just 2 hits, one of which was a Davis homer despite Shields striking out 15 in a CG. Not quite what Price did but anyway.

Yeah this was a super-specific set of qualifiers. Regardless, these types of games are pretty rare.
David Price is the best though. Hope we still make the playoffs at this rate because between him and Porcello and Scherzer right now it'll be a tough team to beat. |

The A's seem to have completely fallen apart. Even though I want to see them do well, I have to admit it'd be kinda hilarious if even after all of those trades they have to go into a one-game playoff with Detroit and Detroit knocks them out for the third year in a row.

Yeah it should be a tight race to the end. Just kinda shocking how bad they've been since the break. Big series this weekend.

Weird thing I just realized about the A's - their team leader in batting average is technically now Cespedes at .256, Derek Norris doesn't have enough ABs to qualify for it yet.
Donaldson would overtake him with a couple of multi-hit games though. |

Well Richards going down really hinders LAA going forward. Obviously it will only affect 1/5 of their games going forward but the trickle-down effect of their rotation may see Oakland have a resurgence. Who knows.
In other news though, how about friggin' Washington? 10 in a row, 5 walk-offs in their past 6. Playing some pretty good ball right meow. |

I hate that Washington is playing well because haha they're our rival, but I love Werth and Strasburg so I "secretly" want them to do well.

Went to 3 Phillies games this year: vs Brewers (loss), Reds (win), and Diamondbacks (win). Wish I had cash money to go to more.

How expensive are Phillies games?
Tigers games are nice, whenever we go it's always a cheap affair. Tunnel Bus from dt Windsor to right outside the park is $8 roundtrip, we typically get SRO tickets for ~$15, and drink at a bar a couple blocks from the park. All said and done the afternoon costs about $40 with a decent amount of drinking. |

Parking near Nats stadium is like $20 at best.
Metro is probably cheaper, but such a mess I hate to take it. Last time I tried, one of the other trains derailed and held everything up. Only been to one Nats game this year, supposed to go to one more at the end of next month to see Miami via free tix from work. Was supposed to go to the Pittsburgh games a week and a half ago but gave the seats up because I rescheduled my vacation for that week. |
