that shows how much creative needs to be sent back to developmental.

I've never liked Adam Rose. I find the character to be insanely annoying, and as for his in-ring stuff, I honestly can't comment, as I actually can't remember any of his matches since he was called up. I think he's had about eight matches since debuting in May.
I don't know what it is, but the guys that have been called up from NXT just don't seem to work out in one way or another, and personally speaking, I've found the majority of them to be pretty bad. I can only think of two/three people that are on the main roster now that came from NXT that I genuinely like, and they are Rusev and Lana and maybe Luke Harper. The majority of them I don't like, and some I can tolerate. I've said it before that I don't watch NXT, so all I go by is what's posted on WWE.com about them and what people here post about them. I've also said this before about the NXT roster, that the guys on the roster just don't do anything for me. They don't "jump out" at me, or make me think "wow, he looks cool. I wonder what he's like in the ring?" or whatever. They just make me cringe at how bad their names are, or how they look, or whatever catchphrase they've got. Also, why do half of the NXT Divas have names that sound like they would be pornstar names? The worst one being Alexa Bliss. |

Seriously, though, I just cringed every time when he used to refer to a diva as "the next Mrs. JBL". Almost as bad as his "I gotta get me one of those!" knee-slapper.

Almost everything that was meant to endear us to Rose were bland catchphrases, keep in mind. He just needs to do something a little more and seem like a real person.

He should feud with serious business Rusev after his and Swagger's feud is over.
Just think it would be nice to actually (maybe) get a reaction out of Rusev rather than angry frown or nothing at all and Rose's character could do it. |

I actually think Rose would make a great heel down the line. He's already proven he can do creepy with his Leo Kruger character. Why does Rose like to party all the time? What is he running from? A more cult-leader and dangerously hedonistic Rose could be compelling.

Lets be honest, he has never been good or entertaining, people just loved his entrance.
Hes absolute shit. His vignettes were god awful. he has no character or angle. but Full Sail went ape shit on his entrance, which could have been anyone doing it and WWE hot shotted him. |

Wrestling seems to have this idea where you can stick any old schmoe in a role and it'll work out as long as they 'click' and 'put their own personality into it'. Can't wait to see Owenbrown as lead in Expendables 4.

Problem with the NXT guys is that the Full Sail audience is a terrible focus group to see what will work - they're almost exactly the same as the old Impact Zone, a completely false environment with non-paying customers marking out over whatever zany thing they can giggle about. People marking out for Emma's dance or Rose entrance are no better than the Impact Zone fans who used to chant for Lance Hoyt constantly.
Rose in NXT had no depth or personality either. He was always a one note joke, and they need to get this idea out of their heads that just because something clicks there, it can click in WWE, because there have been far more failures than successes so far. Until this heel run started, Paige was another failure - they thought she could appeal to the masses because she got some good reactions in NXT. Throw her into the WWE context and she was drowning. |

To be fair, Paige was cut off at the knees with the gimmick they gave her. In NXT she was an anti-Diva; something "different" to the cookie-cutter, dime-a-dozen Divas on the main roster/types that WWE usually goes for. When she came up they played it like she was out of her depth, she barely got any offense in matches and came across as a bit of a fluke. She also didn't really speak, and when she did it was all "I'm so happy to be here".
Same for Emma, really. On the opposite end of the scale, Bray came up gimmick intact and it all worked very well once he found his feet with the in-ring work. Having him lose all of his big matches (sans the match vs. Bryan at Royal Rumble) has done more harm to Bray. Adam arose, I dunno. I dig the gimmick, they just don't seem to know what to do with it. |
