Cody Ross with the walk off 3-run bomb against the White Sox.
Hit three 3-run bombs the last two games combined. |

Dodgers make an offer for Ryan Dempster. Dempster pulled from his scheduled start tomorrow. Cubs call up a pitcher from the minor leagues.

Yeah he was such a cheap pickup at 1 year, $3 million that ESPN was shocked how low he went considering he played a big role in the Cards getting to the World Series.
Stats-wise, he's producing well above his value to the point of earlier in the season and at certain times he became the Red Sox best hitter. |

The Cubs have put quite a nice little run here, ladies and germs.
They are now "just" 15 games under .500, 13.5 back in the Central Division and 12 games back in the Wild Card. Heck, if I was Epstein, I wouldn't trade anyone away, I'd just ride this and see what happens. Deal with trades and free agency in the offseason. But that won't happen. |

Who knows?!
There are 2 wild cards. I'd just go like "Let's ride it out", and let the chips fall where they may. If the 2011 St Louis Cardinals taught us anything, it's that anything is possible in Major League Baseball! |

MLB Network said last night that he'd been pulled, and I was already here in the thread so I went with it. They jumped the gun evidently.
Anyway they're gonna get a fucking haul from him wherever he goes and it's probably gonna be very soon. |

I actually think Jeremy Guthrie will do well, he was just a trainwreck at Coors Field.
Jonathan Sanchez will continue to suck however. |

Blue Jays and Astros pull off a big 10-player trade.
Blue Jays get: J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon, and David Carpenter 'Stros get: Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, Joe Musgrove, Asher Wojciechowski, David Collins, Carlos Perez, and a PTBNL. Trying to wonder which team won this? |

Red Sox would be a lot better off with Beckett not pitching than having him in games. Last 3 games he's given up 10 runs alone in the first inning.
The team is 1-6 in the last 7 games he's pitched and it seems after every game he has some sort of excuse or illness. |

The NY media is trying to blame Santana's no hitter for the fact that his season has gone down the drain since then. Santana is denying it and frankly I don't buy it either. It was over a month and a half ago. He's had a couple of good starts since then as well. But he's been getting hit hard for the most part and is no longer locating his pitches. It's just a really rough spell.
Wouldn't be averse to him skipping his next start or something even though they can ill afford to give up games, like they are today with fucking Miguel Batista starting while Matt Harvey sits by idly in the minors. And besides, even if Santana's struggles ARE related to the no-no...it was still worth it. That game was probably like a top 3 moment for me in my time as a Mets fan. I wouldn't give it up for anything. |

Dickey senselessly is brought in in relief and gives up a 2 run bomb. So much for that Cy Young Award.

For all the hype and praise that the media has given Sandy Alderson, the only positive thing he's done was the Wheeler for Beltran trade - which any other GM in the league also would have done if put into the same position that the Mets were in last year. All of the other prospects Mets fans are waiting for? All acquired during the Omar Minaya era.
At the big league level Sandy has yet to acquire a good player. |
