i'm seeing more of an andy & kelly thing potentially happening, what with the dance off during cafe disco and recalling that at the wedding. could happen.

Yeah, but I even thought that last season when Jim and Pam wanted to go to Ohio for their secret wedding and Dwight said something about getting your drivers lisence at the age of 14 and asked for her birth cetificate and she had it in her purse.. Very Andy Bernard thing to do IMO..

cafe disco, which is where i saw the kelly/andy connection. and i don't disagree. i just don't want to see her character get defined by a relationship so soon.

Varsity Blues has gotta be 10-12 years old now. She'd have only been mid-late 20's. She can't be much older than Amy Smart

She is 6 years older than Van Der Beek per IMDB but she looks young and prolly could have pulled off 18 at 25 or whatever..

Very true.
I just forget how hold things are and how long ago they were. I still think 2002 was like only a few years ago. |

Weak episodes recently. The wedding ep wasn't nearly as epic as I was hoping it would be, and the Mafia ep really isn't touching any chords with me. Hmph.

Jim's reaction to finding out Michael was serious about dating Pam's mom was possibly my favourite moment in the whole series.

Yeah really liked that episode.
I would like to add one moment I loved, at the end when Jim spoke to the microphone, 'Dwight you put the duck back', and then Dwight just turns around saying he had to because of Kelly or something lol |

First half was crazy funny, but the second just kinda lost my attention. Didn't help that I was on my laptop while trying to watch it. My own fault.

It's hard to compare them initially, but the US version has ran for like 4/5 seasons more than the UK one, not to mention the UK series only had like 6 eps in each one.
Both are just as funny in their own special way and I think that is the end of the discussion. |

Per episode the US one makes me laugh out loud more, but UK one is just more magical. Hard for me to really explain why it was better. Just a better mix of all emotions, and when the laughs to come they are amazing. Still laugh so hard at the Training Day episode to this day.

At this point it's hard to compare the two because they are really only similar in name only. The Office UK was written with a finite end in mind so it never really feels dull. They tell the story they set out to and none of the characters overstay their welcome.
The American one is not that. It's well-written, but it's written with a "where do we go from here?" mentality. There are more opportunities to flesh out side characters with a longer time frame, but we also get into caricatures rather than characters and sometimes there are episodes that just aren't that good. |
