Question about Spawn Comics
Never know what forum to put comic questions in, but it seems a lot of comic fans visit the movies section...
Anyways, I've just finished reading my Spawn graphic novels (A have volumes 1-13, and Bloodfeud). Amazing stuff which I really enjoyed (Always been a fan of Spawn), but I need help with one thing. What does the numbers in the green rectangle thing mean? Every so often in the comics you'll come across some number like: 9:1:5:7. I also had some Spawn Trading cards that had their attributes like this. But I've never understood the significance of it. Is it to do with how much power he has left or summit? |

It's the amount of power he has available to use. When it reaches zero, he has to return to hell.

He got it right.
From wiki Spawn has vast magical powers. Spawn has a limited power supply whose quantity would be shown to the reader in the form of a counter that began at 9:9:9:9. Each time Spawn used his energy, the counter drains. Consequently, Simmons relies primarily on his costume's natural abilities or weapons rather than the magical abilities in combat. Though the power source is finite, Spawn's biggest limitation is imagination. Simmons uses this ability in various ways, including resurrecting the dead, firing blasts of necroplasmic energy, teleportation, shapeshifting, flight, and curing the sick. Simmons powers briefly becomes omnipotent, after he eats fruit from the Tree of Life. |
