Pretty ROFL with Ike at the end.
Actually, probably the best episode all season. Though I was wondering if they actually did two episodes or two versions in case McCain won. |

I dunno, as soon I saw it was about the election and involved Randy Marsh, I was ready. But going off on the whole heist tangent was only OK. I wish they'd done something more interesting with the election storyline, or stayed more with the townspeople as they celebrated/feared for the world.
Not a bad ep though. |

I think you all are trying really hard to laugh at the new episodes or something because I think they've been the worst I've ever seen. Just garbage. Like fucking horrendous. New genea pig episode was an hour of complete shit, very little funny jokes, and no payoff at all. Usually there's a moral or a lesson to be learned at least. It was just a bunch of random terrible ideas. SP is going downhill this season (Only the last 3 though I'd say. The breast cancer episode was ROFL)

lol, there's a link somewhere that says they had no episode for the event if McCain won, which basically meant they'd be screwed. Gonna try to find it.

yeah. i don't like south park all that much anymore. was my favourite show ever too. that fucking muhammed episode really was the last time they tried hard pretty much. now it's sort of turning into a retarded season 3 and before show again, only with ridiculous FX thrown in all the time that don't look right. haven't really laughed at any of the new episodes

I liked South Park when it first came out and was cutting edge at the time. I stopped watching regularly probably around 2001 or 2002, but still catch most of the episodes the show has aired eventually. I don't know. Like, I watch it because it is something to watch, but I don't quite understand it when people constantly repeat these quotes the show has that weren't that funny to begin with, as if it is the greatest wit this side of Oscar Wilde. Rather than being cutting edge, it has become a show that parodies celebrities, usually involving a redundant adventure plot of some sort.
I probably came off as a pretentious prick writing that, but oh well. |

Actually not everything I wrote is entirely true. Every once in a while they will have an episode that is really great, like that one where the parents hired those actors who played bums that the kids were going to be when they grew up. If they could focus on creative plots like that more often than the Tom Cruise or Michael Jackson stuff, then that's a show.

between about season 4-10 were absolutely fantastic. i think 8-9 were the peak. before that it was rubbish, though i didn't realize at the time cause i was about 13 and it was risque.

People keep talking about this and forget about it when something amazing comes around like Imaginationland or something. I'm not going to defend this year as the best, because I don't think it is either, but it's not bad. The best was obviously the breast cancer episode, followed by this weeks. As always, I feel like South Park could use some new characters...those always seem to revitalize fans.

The problem is they make such amazing episodes, that when they land a few "Ok"s in a row it seems like they dropped off. They have never made a BAD episode in the last 8 years, but they really have set the bar high.

The China/Indiana Jones episode and the Pandemic episodes were BAD episodes IMO. The China one was just a rehash of old jokes. The Pandemic thing was just fucking stupid.

The episode on Wednesday is supposedly a parody of High School Musical.

The extended sequences of song and dance just made me sad and annoyed. Yes Mr. Queermo was funny once or twice, otherwise the only enjoyment was from the diabetes kid.
As for the season as a whole, it's been fairly "meh." Breast cancer one was gold, and guinea pigs in costumes were adorable, but otherwise useless to me. |
