It's just a shitty concept, in my opinion. I admittedly do not read the title currently, but I don't like the concept at all. Luckily though, I wouldn't worry about the destruction of anything. Batman is bulletproof. Even if the concept fails and wears off, which it will, Batman will always be untouchable and will return to original form and greatness. Strange creative decisions will become dated and fade away, but the core Batman/Bruce Wayne character will not. I think that suit is pretty shit. Especially in the picture featuring the international skyline. The lining on the suit looks horrible. Too much going on. |

I guess it's just that one picture actually. It looks fine in the others where it's not so pronounced. I just can't stand the look of the blue lining and the over-sized/raised chest emblem.
The other two look fine. |

Even someone as close to Batman as Dick Grayson irks me. Same with other times it's done, like Azrael Batman (even though the suit is awesome. It's okay in Knightfall, but after that GTFO), or the times it's been done with other heroes. |

Good writing can make any concept enjoyable. And Batman and Robin has some great fucking writing.

I agree that good writing can make just about anything enjoyable, but as far as the concept goes I guess I'd just rather the good writing be used for something else.
I just hate anyone other than Bruce Wayne being Batman. Maybe I should give it a read just for the sake of it. I don't see myself liking the idea though. I don't want to go out of my way or pay money for it. Someone hook me up. |

Even if I opened up to other people taking over hero personas..Batman? BAT FUCKING MAN?
That is Bruce Wayne to the death! In all seriousness, I will give it a read eventually. |

i'm not as opposed to the idea of other people taking up the mantle of a previous hero - it's been kind of a dc staple for years (even silk spectre and nite owl in watchmen were successors to the title). i don't like it when its done ingloriously or inappropriately. but it's unrealistic to keep the same people in the same role for 70 years with no sense of aging or replacement because it makes the concept of time in comic books even more convoluted than it already is.
as far as bruce and dick are concerned, nobody in that universe earned a shot at being batman in bruce's absence more than dick. he reinvigorated the character. since pretty much identity crisis, batman hasn't been all that likeable a character. he's been paranoid, shut off from the league, control-obsesssed... he was off the deep end, man. grayson injected a sense of light and and freshness into the character, while damian provides the necessary wayne darkness. it's actually done really well. |

Must... resist urge... to point out that Batman and Robin (along with most Morrison Batman stuff) is pretty bad. I love Dick Grayson and Damien as Batman/Robin as well, just the other non-Morrison books have been so much better.
Well, I guess I didn't resist urge very well. I know I'm the only one here with that opinion though, so I'll go. |

Also, the passage of time doesn't bother me since it's always been that way in comics. It just moves with the times but the characters stay in place. To me, another taking up mantle of a recognizable hero is something that irks me to the core. Maybe it's because of the way I view comics and mythology in general. To me, the real life persona is just as important as the hero persona. Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker are as iconic as their crime-fighting personas to me. I don't mind someone else dawning the costume temporarily, as part of the larger story in a one-off or something, but replacing them? I hate it. If logic and passage of time is a concern to comic writers now, then they should just create new heroes. |

If they did that, the industry would end up either DOA because noone would ever give the new characters a try, or EVERY new character would be a rehash of something done 10 years ago (not that there isn't a lot of that going on anyway).

That expression doesn't work as well when you are talking about art. And in comics, it leads to characters becoming stagnant and boring.
See spider-man, from the late 90's, all the way up to brand new day. |

Love it to death. This probably belongs more in the video games forum, but nobody will care in there and all the VG snobs will be like "old news" |

So pissed/upset right now over Star Wars Legacy. They just up and ended it. Got the final issue today and they left so much shit unanswered it's fucking annoying.
Also wondering when/if they'll release part 5 of 5 to Marvel Zombies 5. |

I often wonder why there's such an obsession with vampires and zombies these days, but werewolves continue to get no love.
When will werewolves get a boom period? They've always gotten the least attention and they're amazing. |

Yeah, there needs to be a movie about werewolves. Like about a specific pack and their fights with other packs, other creatures and their internal pack politics and shit.

Yea I read about the sequel a couple days ago. I have it for PS3
I played the shit out of it this week. Last night I finished the game. So great. I solved all the Riddler stuff too, I just need to complete the challenges. This is the first video game in forever that I've actually cared about completing 100% I love that version of Scarecrow. Conroy and Mark Hammil were great as always. I think it's great that they held off on Two Face, Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Catwoman and some other villains. The sequel should be great. I wonder if they'll do the Riddler side-missions again or develop something new. I'd love to see them include Hush Really I can't see how you can improve on the game much other than just adding more and covering new stories/characters. One thing I felt was that detective mode is awesome, and needed to play the game right, but it kind of takes away from the great look of the game. Obviously you have the option, but it's tempting for the player to not stay in detective mode virtually all the time since there is so much you need it for. Maybe they can find a way to limit that. |

I liked Dark Empire, Tales of the Jedi and some other stuff. That's from way back in the early 90s though. I actually used to get 'Droids' comic when I was younger. I just remember it being pretty badass even though it doesn't sound like it would be. Shadows of the Empire was also great, in all mediums including the comics. Does Boba Fett have his own title? I'd be shocked if he doesn't. |

Actually growing up in the 90's, I loved all the Dark Horse books (not just the Star Wars ones..AVP, Terminator, etc come to mind.) I have a bunch of the 90's DH comics. They were all A+ from what I remember. Specially their adaptations of the Thrawn trilogy.
As far as the Fett man goes..I can't remember him ever having a series. I remember little mini-series here and there and one shots. I had this awesome hand shot of some imperial officer who hires Fett to put down a rebel group he can't deal with. Bad ass all over. I also remember a mini-series about the origins of Fett. However, there was some controversy behind that one since Episode II pretty much made it obsolete. |

I used to read some back in the day. The "Tales of" books were cool, because they existed on the side of the original movies. The Thrawn Trilogy and Shadows of the Empire were great too, but aside from that I really just dislike the EU. It feels so forced and different. Like it doesn't have that distinct Lucas feel. I can't really put my finger on it but you may know what I mean

Yeah, New Jedi Order definitely strays from it. I don't try to look at them as "star wars" books, but as sci-fi books in general. I don't go in reading them with the Lucas mentality. I try to just appreciate them for what they are.
Legacy of the Jedi might be more to your liking, from what I hear, but it might be a bit confusing if you don't know EU chronology. Wikipedia can help with that though. Darth Bane doesn't have the Lucas feel tbh, but you should check it out anyways, as it is just a flat out, great book in general. |

Also, Rise of Vader (I think thats the title) is something you might like. It came out shortly after episode III, and it deals with Vader hunting some of the remaining jedi, as well as coping with his new suit, and decrease in power.
Honestly don't know if it's even EU. Might be canon, tbh. |

Just bought all 19 trades of JLA vol.2, as well as Earth-2, all 4 trades of 52, The Tornado's Path, and the Identity Crisis Hardcover. All for just a little over 100 dollars.
Allow me to just reiterate that I fucking LOVE half.com. Gonna get the Infinite Crisis Hardcover, and it's accompaning miniseries trades, and all the Justice League volume 3 trades released so far. Then it's on to catching up with JSA and Green Lantern trades. Might skip Final Crisis because I absolutely hated it, but I dunno. It IS one of the biggest stories in dc history. Don't think the collection is complete without it. |

On the subject of Star Wars, I never really got into the novels and now feel that I missed out. Kind of want to hunt them down and start reading through the post ROTJ novels in order, but I'm way too lazy for that.
