The Lord of the Rings, ESPECIALLY the 3rd one, which almost redeemed the trilogy had it not been for the horrible self-congratulatory, gratuitous, pompous ending which was stretched out about 45 minutes too long with about a dozen possibilities on which to conclude without dragging the story on for an agonising length.

, for some reason I put a movie that I though was over-hyped instead of over-rated, so anyways here's my list:
Titanic LOTR (all of them) Harry Potter (all of them) Pirates of the Caribbean |

Oh yeah. American Beauty gets a vote from me as well. Good movie, no doubt. Not a masterpiece or anything though.

Boondock Saints is the man. It wasn't a Tarrantino ripoff at all. It is what it is, and it's one of those movies that you're just like "" whence watching.

I would have to agree with Titanic. For what it's worth, it wasn't a great movie - just cool special effects and stuff.
My choice is the Matrix...that movie blows. Number 3 makes up for the suckiness of the second one but damn, I'd never waste money on that shit again... |

The most truly overrated movies ever are the Matrix movies, including the first one [just not nearly as much]. Reloaded aside from sick action scenes was pretty bad, and Revolutions is seriously one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I've seen Cats and Dogs. |

Most overrated movie is probably Terminator II. I just didn't get into it and it dragged on for way too long. |

Lots of people I know rave over Signs, but I thought "whatever".
The idea that the aliens are vulnerable to water is gay. Wouldn't they get hurt just for walking around our water-ladden atmosphere? And the alien trying to kill the boy by spraying that shit in his face. Why wouldn't he just tear his head off if he really wanted to kill him? In short, that movie was WAYYYYYYYYY overrated. |
