Stopping things from running during start up
Recently I've been getting like 1,000 programs opening during start up.
I want to control what runs on start up, but can't find any way to access the shit for some reason. One thing told me to go to windows defender, which i literally had to search to find on my computer as it doesnt come up in the programs list. Then I found it, and it doesnt have any link that it mentioned I should go to in the program. I am using an HP with Windows 7. Any help would be much appreciated, as I have like 8 - 10 programs that just start up and run and not to mention the inconvenience, but it slows the comp. down right from start up. Thanks guys Quote:

Run --> msconfig
The Startup and Tools tab are where you go to disable the programs you don't want to start up. |

Services and Startup more precisely. On the Services tab check the "Hide all microsoft programs" and it will give you a list of things that are usually safe to turn off.
