::METAL:: Sort of an obnoxious request... (song suggestions)
Yeah, but I figure there are enough people in this forum who can help me out a little bit. I'm doing a series of compilation mp3 discs for my car stereo, and i need around GOOD 10 songs for each of these bands. I'll include the songs I have heard as well, so they don't get renamed or something. Include entire albums too if they are hella good.
Nightwish (She Is My Sin, Wishmaster, Moondance) Iced Earth (1776, Angels Holocaust, Dantes Inferno, Dark Saga, God Of Thunder, Melancholy, Transylvania) Bal Sagoth (The Voyagers, Summoning The Guardians Of The Astral Gate, Naked Steel, Black Dragons Soar) The Haunted (I have a bunch of songs off One Kill Wonder, looking for other albums) Borknager (Winter Millenium, Inner Landscape, The Eye Of Odem, Presence Of Ominious, Ad Noctum) Earlier Shadows Fall songs, I have the Art Of Balance and a few other songs Then apart from those.. I think I need to expand my collection of other bands... I'll go ahead and list the songs I have, feel free to fill in the blanks. DEATH 1000 Eyes A Moment of Clarity Crystal Mountain Flattening Of Emotions Flesh And The Power It Holds In Human Form Mentally Blind Painkiller (Judas Priest cover) Pull The Plug Scavenger of Human Sorrow Suicide Machine Symbolic The Philosopher Trapped In A Corner Voice of the Soul Zombie Ritual STRATOVARIUS Blackout Coming Home Destiny Distant Skies Eagleheart Emerald Sword False Messiah Forever Freedom Greensleeves Hunting High And Low Legions Lord Of The Rings Millenium Paradise Phoenix Soldier's Prayer Speed Of Light Stratofortress Stratosphere Tears Of Ice The Abyss In Your Eyes Visions Wings Of Tomorrow And then I need anything that is awesome by Carcass, I have their Necroticism album, its the man. I'm looking for awesome doom stuff too, innovative, not just generic doom. Grindcore, and then incredibly evil ass shit like Naglfar, who I am just downloading everything of. \m/ And of course, if you think there is anything that will appeal to my tastes, feel free to suggest. Thanks in advance. Last edited by Joeleosis; 02-05-2004 at 04:19 PM. |

Hmm, the only earlier Shadows Fall song I know is "Of One Blood".
I'll ponder other stuff you might like and get back to you... |

I'm gonna get all other Vintersorg albums as well, and I am gonna complete my Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, and Testament collections
Hmm I probably need more old school metal too. I'm clear in the Sabbath and Maiden departments. |

Just a note on Asphyxy's Carcass recommendations... very few of them are early period Carcass, so they're a bit different from the stuff on Necrotism...

Also, if you're in the mood for something brutally fast and aggressive, download Myrkskog's album "Deathmachine".

I'm putting better speakers in my car this weekend, it's gonna be ****ing metal madness on the roads of the San Francisco bay area from now on. This asshole was trying to speed up so I couldn't merge earlier, and my stereo was like "FINNTROLL" and I was like "VOLVO" and hella owned him. Metal + driving = ssssss

I want a car. I want to drive down the streets drowning out all the gangster rap and emo with some Marduk or Gorgoroth.

Do it. And specifically channel all the below 100 hertz frequencies to a couple of 12" speakers and lay them down on the floor of your car. Then when you drive around, double bass will be rattling people's houses and shit. \m/

Hahaha yeah, I have a habit of yelling random shit as I'm driving. Just a few minutes ago I was like "JESUS FISH THIS" cause this stupid yuppy god-fearing van was going like 55 in the fast lane.
And I already have all the Bodom albums (minus live songs) on an mp3 disc. It's mostly what I listen to when I'm driving. And if you're gonna suggest bands, give me some suggestions. *downloads some more Gorgogoth* SHEEP HEADS AND CRUCIFIED WHORES \m/ |

Write a song based around the word Volvo. I dare you.
Uhhhh I don't remember if you heard the new Iced Earth album but it's meant to be pretty hot (track I've heard is certainly) |

How about Hypocrisy? All I have is Pleasure Of Molestation.. I have been playing it pretty often so I figure I should explore a little more of the band, and possibly see their upcoming show with Cannibal Corpse.

Hypocrisy is awesome. Their older stuff is more black metal than their new stuff. Get the following:
Killing Art Apocalypse Fractured Millenium Destroyed [Off of their "Catch 22" album, which sucks. It's their most popular song live, though.] God Is A Lie Roswell 47 Blinded Osculum Obscenum Slippin' Away The Final Chapter To Escape Is To Die Fusion Programmed Minds Fire In The Sky A Coming Race Eraser Paled Empty Sphere Last Vanguard Path To Babylon Selfinflicted Overload Through The Window Of Time Pleasure of Molestation '01 [Rerecorded with Peter doing vocals] Left To Rot T.E.M.P.T. |

I caught the end of their set right before I saw Bodom, I wasn't too impressed. I dunno if they were playing newer songs or what, but the venue did them no justice. Great American Music Hall doesn't have very good sound, but it didn't stop Bodom from ruling all. If I see them the week after next, I'm hoping I'll see something better. Because so far just from Pleasure Of Molestation, they rule.

The Final Chapter rules.
Their self titled album is very Gothenberg sounding. I downloaded it when it first came out [1999] because I had just recently heard of them, and it was awesome back then. Nowadays, everything sounds like Gothenberg, so it might not be as appealing. |
