Spring 2008: William Regal
This guy was in line for the push of his life until he was suspended and written off by Kennedy in a short TV match. Would Regal have won the title as RAW GM? How would you have booked it? Did you enjoy the storyline?
This topic is dedicated to Regal's month long monster push, only for him to shit on it. Discuss. |

Was one of the only reasons to watch Raw and then it was gone. Pisses me off when Smackdown's game announce him as the 2008 King of the Ring still.

I think he would have won the title as part of his push, it's just a shame he was pill popping

He was amazing in that push. Such an excellent role for him to play. Wished we could have had more.

Was the perfect person to give to role to as well. Don't know who else could have pulled off the "Evil King GM" and possibly WHC persona

I loved that angle. It's a shame Regal ruined it for himself, because I was fairly certain Regal was going to be the WWE Champion sooner or later. He had moved to RAW because Triple H is a big supporter of the guy -- and I recall Triple H being the WWE Champion at the time. I always envisioned Regal using his corrupt powers to put Triple H in a match against him that Regal just couldn't lose.
Regal would then go on to have a Honky Tonk (not in duration) reign, where he would demand his opponents get disqualified for using a closed fist, whereas he could not be DQ'd, etc. Eventually, the WWE Title would be taken off Regal by CM Punk -- using Money in the Bank, and catching Regal in a situation that he couldn't control. |

I'm still all for Regal hovering around the main event, even if it is in the role of a manager, or something. Regal being in Daniel Bryan's corner at WrestleMania would be a really cool moment, for example.
