OK. Just gunna throw this out there. I liked the episode, but there's some seriously concerning directions they may or may not be going, that were strongly insinuated.

SPOILER: show
The biggest one for me was the cute little blonde taking care of Ricks baby and then kissing him gently on the cheek when she see's him.... I can see what's going on there. Carl vs Rick eventually? I dunno. I dont think i'm looking to far into that scene. I thought it was obvious. That's a future issue right there.

I think keeping the mentalcase away from the people he's grown to care for and trying to protect is probably the best logic he's shown in the whole show. Them reluctantly accepting Merle into the group would seem like a pretty easy route for the writers to have gone in terms of creating drama and tension in the group, but "realistically" nobody would ever have brought him in, given his history.

There could still well be an arc down the line of minor redemption for Merle, before he's accepted into the group, then leading to that tension I just mentioned, but I'm glad they didn't try and force it in now.

It was, but I was a little confused on first watch, because it looked like the driver A) was Andrea, and B) walked into the prison. But on second watch it seems clearer.

There's a lot to love in this episode.

-Andrew Lincoln still doing the best work on the series as Rick
-Glen stepping up
-Daryl single-handedly saving a woman and child from a walker horde whilst gorily destroying all of them was a scene designed to wet panties
-David Morrissey has made the Gov all his own. For the most part, portrayals have hewn close to the comic counterparts. But Morrissey is hitting all the beats the Gov needs while creating what feels like an entirely different character from the book. Very well done.
-AXEL Carol just can't catch a fucking break.
-The interaction between Andrea and Milton in the street was a nice little comic beat.
-Merle at the prison will be an interesting dynamic, though I'm still feeling like he'll be done by the end of the season.
-The Grimes Gang has been getting straight complacent. And they paid for it.
-Michonne really needs to be served better next season. She's got all the depth of a kiddie pool right now.


Only thing I didn't really like was the treatment of the Lori apparition. At the end of the last episode with her all shrouded in shadow, it looked like her face was fucked, which would've been a cool direction to stay with. But from a character/story standpoint, it makes sense since it's Rick imagining his perfect image of his wife.

Curious how the season will end. Kirkman says there's still a major comic character to debut before the end of the season. Abraham perhaps, or maybe Aaron, which could open the door to the Alexandria storyline, but it feels a bit early for that. The return of Morgan is a possibility, as I think he and Rick would have an interesting dynamic right now.

What bugs me a little

When the Gov and company were able to take out the national guard in a mater of seconds, but at the prison they 'only' get Axel. Hell, they managed to get a guy set up on a tower, yet he kills no one/the rest of them fire from outside the prison.

They made the Gov&Co. seem like such capable killers with the national guard, but since then, they have managed only to shoot 2 prisoners

I understand Rick's roup as they are caught off guard, had no weapons, hadd gun troubles... They shouldn't have made the Gov's team so good with the national guard and then follow it up with the last couple of outings. I'm being somewhat nit-picky perhaps, but stuff like that always stays with me

It's pretty much just Stormtrooper syndrome. You've got a team of highly trained marksmen, who can't hit anything because if they did there'd be no main cast. It's just one of those things you have to accept in most movies and TV shows.

Fucking incredible episode! After all the bitching and shitty reviews people were posting on the internet about the last episode (which I enjoyed), this episode should shut them up. Not every episode can be so explosive like this one, it's all in dynamics. But this episode was brilliant, so many interesting plots going on, and so much action etc.

The pre-season review some critic gave said that the first half was good and the second half petered off. But the past 2 episodes were pretty damn solid.

Because I don't think that's what it was about. The Gov wants to inflict terror on these people who took the one thing he loved. This was a raid, not an all out attack. That's why he took a skeleton crew instead of rallying all of Woodbury. He wanted to inflict some pain and see exactly what he was up against. Towards the end you can see him firing indiscriminately, because he's trying to attract walkers, not necessarily hit anyone. He wanted to hit them, damage them, and keep them occupied until he came back for real.

I think it was more than about terror, he wanted to fuck their camp up but also acted with caution because he knew he was out numbered. If it would have been easier he would have killed them all.

Someone important drove that truck, no other reason to put them under a mask and all those clothes. Don't think its Andrea though.
