WTF, these lyrics don't make a lick of sence.
You know, there are those songs that sound fucking the awesome. I know I said fucking the awesome. Anyhow, they sound great, but then you listen to the lyrics, and you have no idea what the hell they are talking about...happens a lot in metal. Anyhow, I've been listening to Holy Diver, good sound, but seriously, what the fuck.

Tiger is slang for heroin. There's actually two interpretations to this song: one is that he's a man long off of drugs in prison, due to being caught with the wrong crowd. That's where the "too long in the midnight sea" comes in; he's built up a reputation, and now can't convince anyone that he's sobered up. The stripes either mean the measurement lines in the needle, or the strap marks in his arm; "he's clean" is either talking about the heroin itself, or the guy in question.
