Question about dual video cards...
So here's my idea. I currently have dual monitors set up. However, I want to get another card (as cheap as possible, really) to output to my television (making a triple monitor set up, essentially).
I'm just wondering if the separate card that goes out to the television would be able to render from the main graphics card and basically only use it as another output, or if it would use its own power (and only its own power) to render whats on that screen? |

I think it'll all only work as one if you are using Crossfire/SLI.
If it isn't in Crossfire/SLI, the second one will be "on its own." That's just me assuming though. Just make sure you match ATI with ATI or Nvidia with Nvidia and you have the open slots and you should be fine regardless. |

If you get an ATI card with "Eyefinity" you can hook up three monitors. Most have one of each output for a total of three like DVI, HDMI, VGA or Display port. If it doesn't have VGA it usually has a display port.
