So did anyone else know the story about Roman Polanski...
A friend of mine from LA (I like to say that when prefacing stories about celebrities so that you know this story is legit. ). Anyway, he just told me this story about how Roman Polanski is wanted in the US for raping a 14 year old girl in Jack Nicholson's house back in the '70s. So he lives in France and any movies he directs are done there. Also he doesn't go to the UK because he's afraid they will accept an extradition from the US (They already tried to get France to arrest him and extradite him but they wouldn't do it.) Aparently the woman who he raped has forgiven him even and people have tried to get the US to let him come back but no such luck.
Anyways, he says he thinks it's a somewhat well known story. I never knew though. And now that I look, he hasn't directed many movies set in the US. 30 minutes ago, I knew so little about Roman Polanski. Crazy story. |

Yes, it is not an obscure story. However I can understand why some people wouldn't know. Not really something that comes up in everyday conversation.
Also, his wife and unborn child were killed by the Manson family. ANOTHER TIDBIT ABOUT MR. POLANSKI FOR YA. |

Yeah, I didn't even mention the fact that he was married to Sharon Tate.
And he was a hollocaust survivor. When this man dies, his life story needs to be put on film. |

From Family Guy:
Lois: What are you doing down here? Stewie: We're playing 'House' Lois: But he's all tied up... Stewie: Umm, Roman Polanski's House |

Yeah, I knew about that. Helped out with the Oliver Twist premiere last year and had some lady freak out at the end when the credits rolled.
She came out screaming at us that if she knew it was a Polanski film, she would of never bothered to leave the house and we should be a ashamed for helping advertise his work. This was quite funny since the full title of the film is "Roman Polanski's Oliver Twist". Kinda hard to miss that one. People are so dumb. |

As far as i've heard she told him she was 18, and from most accounts she could've passed for it, but meh, it was still a fuckin stupid wreckless thing to do.

Surely if the chick isn't pressing charges they can't arrest him?
