Worst Angle Endings
What were some of the "surprises"/endings to angles you followed?
For me, finding out that Vince McMahon was the secret head of the Ministry was completely stupid (though the Corporate Ministry wasn't so bad). I really thought it should have been Jake the Snake at the time but, I realize now that his addictions would have made a program like that impossible. Also, Mankind losing the title...ahem...I was just so much of a Foley mark that I didn't want to see him retire after finally making it on top. Triple H's ultimate victory over Foley left a bad taste behind it purely because of that fact that it meant Foley would be gone forever. (Little did I know Foley would turn around to tarnish his legacy in the WWE and then in TNA.) It's time to make TPWW MEAT again! Quote:

Austin as CEO, and his match against Vince and Shane, where the briefcase was moved up when Austin went to grab it. At the time, I was like 'who the fuck moved it' and was dying for an angle from it. If memory serves correctly, there was no mention of it by anyone, and instead, Austin went into a program with Taker, saying he had guaranteed himself a title show when he was still CEO.

Heh, but that whole angle was just dropped. I wonder how it would have turned out if it had gone all the way.

When Big Show replaced someone in a triple threat match between The Rock, Austin, and Triple H at a PPV and won the match which could have been one for the ages and they never rebooked it. This was due to an injury to Austin I think and they were forced to improvise and they fawked it up royally as far as I'm concerned. I'm surpised the trio never did a match a WM but I supposed their egos had grown so much between one another didn't allow it to ever happen again.

Man....there have been a number of lousy angle endings I've witnessed. In fact, I don't think I can call them endings because there was no real resolution. A number of them happened in WCW because management changed all the time. I really was disappointed when the whole New Blood angle died out and Bischoff got burnt only after a few months back in the company. I guess you could look at the climax as Booker T winning the title, but that was pretty early on.

Paul Heyman secretly being Kurt Angle's manager while Angle was trying to get Brock to help him beat the Big Show for the title. I had pretty much called the entire angle three weeks before the PPV even happened, and it all went exactly that way.

The whole New Blood vs Millionair Club in WCW after the inital couple of weeks since it looked like WCW really was going to be building up their "youth" wrestlers as new stars. In reality, they made the youth wrestlers as heels which made it much harder for the fans to rally around the younger/future stars for WCW.
Ending to the Invasion angle in the WWF since its was built up as a huge feud and starts to fall flat once it becomes a McMahon family feud or WCW/ECW being led by WWF wrestlers. |
