Hulk Hogan's heel turn probably would have driven him nuts if he had fought Scott Hall and Kevin Nash for two months beforehand, having brutal battles that he won decisively.

Hogan's heel turn was completely logical.
He had everything. He was the conquering hero. He was adored by millions. Except the boos were starting to creep in. The old-school fans hated him, because he brought up-north Sports Entertainment down and replaced their Wrasslin with it. He'd driven out their favorites and replaced them with his. Now, suddenly, here are are these fresh new faces. Young blood, hungry for a shot they feel like they never got. They want to upset the status quo and they want to take over. If Hulk hitches his wagon to them, he's the megastar again. He's the draw. He can make the rules, and if the fans are going to boo him, he's gonna give em something to fucking boo! Add to that the fact that Hall and Nash had soundly disrupted every broadcast they'd been a part of. Everyone who'd stood in their way had been demolished. If Hogan and his pals couldn't beat them, why not join them? Now, imagine that story the exact opposite and you have a pretty close approximation of the Rollins heel turn. |

Hogan had his reasons to turn into the bad guy. Rolling had his.
He could stay as a member of a three man group winning matches but always being against the guys in charge and held back because of it... Or he could break away on his own, join up with the authority and become the golden child of THE GUY WHO RUNS THE FUCKING COMPANY and make a shitload more money. And he chose to do that. Because sometimes... in wrestling... good guys... turn bad... Hogan was the ultimate good guy and when there were immoral things that came along that he could profit off of, he took them. Rollins wasn't even that much of a good guy. He was freshly removed from being an evil fuck. And lo and behold, when the offer to turn his back and join the dark side for promises of money and the chance to be the "chosen one" of the owner of the company came up, he took it. |

And if that winds up being the story they tell, that's great. But right now it looks like he went from being the lackey for the evil corporation, eighth on the totem pole (behind Steph, Evolution, The demon Kane, Ambrose, and Reigns) doing their dirty work until he grew a conscience, keeping together the only group to put a chink in the Authority's armor, and positioning himself as a breakout star to... being a lackey for the evil corporation, sixth on the totem pole.
If this turns into a "this guy is the future of the business" story with Rollins getting unfair title shots and the like i.e. Corporate Rock (now with 70% less charisma!) then I may get onboard. As it stands now, he just looks like he went from being #3 in the stable that's consistently beating the powers that be to being just another henchman on the losing side. |

Well, yeah. Your problem isn't really with the heel turn itself then. It's with the lack of power you THINK he's gonna end up getting from it. My whole point originally was that Afterlife seemed to not see how power and money corrupting a wrestler is a viable reason for a heel turn in part because it "runs against Rollins' character". Which just shows an odd lack of understanding of the whole point of a good guy turning bad.

My point is that it really isn't against his character that much either. The guys in the Shield have always had a really backwards and slanted view of what "justice" means. I mean, they were bludgeoning people and then manufacturing faux heroic reasons to justify the horror they dealt out. They were blood thirty maniacs and then they were The Authority's goons for awhile afterwards. They've been paid off before. When they thought the authority couldn't offer them what they wanted, they rebelled. Now if Triple H comes up with the right amount of money and reasons for Rollins to leave, I would expect him to take it, given that they were basically mercenaries for hire only a couple months ago. It really isn't all that bad of writing. I guess I'll wait until Rollins officially gives his reasoning, but for now I'm still optimistic.

I don't have a problem with this, because I try not to have problems with things I currently know very little about.
I expect I'll start to form a judgement after Raw, assuming they give us some kind of explanation. |

For the World Title, much as I hate it, you can't do it without Cena. If this was just for a shot, I'd say fill it with on-the-cusp guys, but any multi-man match for a vacant world title has to include your franchise player.
I still think the Authority works Rollins into the match. Any MitB match needs a bump machine, and he's the only guy remotely high enough on the card to fit that bill. It would make sense for them not to include Show, the Rhodeses, or the Shield considering their rivalries with the Authority. I would suggest Kane, but I imagine they'll have him against Reigns or Ambrose as an undercard match. There's really only one other guy high enough on the card to warrant inclusion and that's Bray. He's the most interesting choice for a winner, too, which is why he won't. |

Bray Wyatt - Gets added as a way to try to foil Cena and stretch out their feud for a bit longer before Bray moves on. Brock Lesnar - Treat him as the surprise entrant to the point he only gets revealed well into the match itself with Heyman proclaiming his client has arrived. Also can be used to segue into the rumored Lesnar-Bryan feud once Bryan returns assuming Lesnar takes the title. Had Sandow not been stuck with the random weekly comedic filler thing, he'd replace Lesnar's spot. Would treat as him wanting redemption for the injustice of his foiled cash in the year before. |

My son loves Rusev, I have no idea why, I threatened to kick Rusev's ass and he got upset. He is 6. I don't know what the appeal is there, but they got him.
I would love to see Rowan no sell a promo myself. He's in the back of the room peeing and he zips up and tells us to follow the buzzards while Harper is blowing on a Nintendo cartridge |

Ideally, I'd have Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper win.
Harper wins MitB by just decimating the undercard. Maybe he's a last-minute addition. Maybe there's a stip on the tag match that the winning team enters. However you do it, get him in the match. Can you imagine the shit Brodie Lee could do to a man with a ladder? Bray winning makes him the Big Boss. Every great hero journey has to culminate in a showdown with the embodiment of evil, and Bryan's redemption story has to go through Bray. So you put the belt on Wyatt and the briefcase on Luke, and you start the speculation. Will Luke turn? The next night on Raw you have the Wyatts in the ring, and the case is at Bray's feet. Luke pledges that the case is Bray's. It belongs to the Family. If anyone should pry the title from Bray's cold, dead hands, retribution will be swift and Luke will bring it back to the fold immediately. So now there's the specter of: Not only does every challenger for the Title now have to go through a demon, but now they know even if they win, there's a redneck sadist waiting to actually murder them the moment they do. You can then tell any number of stories: Luke eventually becomes un-brainwashed and turns face and cashes in on Bray, Bray turns face when he's betrayed by the only two people bigger and more evil than he, a major babyface does the impossible and unseats Bray only to be the first casualty in Luke's reign of terror, major babyface overcomes the odds and defeats two monsters in one night to become (and stay) champion. |

I'm thinking Dean Ambrose for the contract. I'm a huge mark for the guy, but I think regardless of who the champion is, he would make a great constant threat. If Reigns wins the World Title, can you imagine the speculation that Ambrose would cash in on his brother? The only thing is that I could see Ambrose and Rollins effectively cancelling each other out in the match. Their brawl could effectively leave things open for another Superstar to pull down the briefcase.
If I had to go to someone else to win, it'd actually have to be Dolph Ziggler. He's consistently over, such a great worker, working hard to become a good promo and people [I]want[I] to see him as the champion. For the title match? My heart can't go past Cesaro. I think Wyatt, Reigns and Cena would all be better decisions, but I just think Cesaro would get the most out of it. I'd have Reigns cost the match by Triple H, and as it looks like Orton is about to win, Cena comes in and tosses Orton off the ladder. They do a "Cena is going to win!" tease, before Cesaro springboards in and uppercuts Cena to hell off the ladder and pulls down the belts. Cena goes on to be Cesaro's first feud. |

Ah fuck it, I can't do it -- I think it's got to be Roman Reigns or Bray Wyatt. I'm going with Reigns, just because. I'm also going with Ambrose winning the briefcase. Ambrose keeps his feud going with Rollins and Reigns defends successfully against Orton at Battleground. Reigns also defeats Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Reigns then beats Triple H at Night of Champions, in a match where Triple H essentially makes it No Disqualification for him, but if Reigns gets DQ'd he loses the title. Hell in a Cell sees Reigns destroy Triple H. You go in a different direction for Survivor Series. Maybe it will be time for a one-on-one match with Cena at this point?

Barrett wins the contract.
Cena wins the title. Ryback ambushes Cena after the match with a lariat. Slater, Gabriel, Otunga, Axel hit the ring and continue the beatdown. Barrett comes out and cashes in. Barrett, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, leader of the Bad News Nexus |

Ideal, yeah, you threw that word in there, good. Cut my music.
My pick would be a double cross by Dean Ambrose to join Evolution to either knock Seth Rollins out of the group or to be a ruse between the two and Dean getting the case. My wife still loves me, she hasn't left me to this day, bless her heart. My WWE Championship pick would have to be Cena due to the impending Summerslam PPV coming. My wish would be to put it on Cesaro for a "Just the tip" experiment, but please don't put it on Reigns yet. He is a slow cooker and not fully baked yet. Right, hit my music |

Wade Barrettt for the MitB case match and Cena for the title match.
Going to assume the title match winner is only a transitional champion which would make Cena the best choice. Wouldn't be negatively affected by a meaningless reign and out of everyone involved, he fits well for a potential Lesnar and/or Bryan title feud. Feel like its Barrett's time to eventually become champion or reach that next level in his career. |

I was thinking. If Randy won the title and Rollins won the case, it could lead to some pretty intruiging Orton/Rollins interactions with Randy constantly being paranoid that Rollins is going to turn on him. Given his past with business partners, Randy would have a right to look over his shoulder constantly

Nowhere Man, can we please stop referring to Evolution in the present tense? Rollins has never been referred to as a member of Evolution, they've not appeared together as a unit since the initial turn. The group, including the music, went away when Batista left. Evolution is done.
Seth Rollins a part of/backed by The Authority. Thank you for your time. Regards, XL |

Kallisto, to try having a masked luchadore that people can actually get behind again. Would probably just end of fighting Alberto Del Rio 500 times.
Bayley, but with the caveat that they actually TRY to bring over her NXT character. Would be good to see segments with her backstage where she is just marking out and trying to hug everybody... |
