Can't get online with MACBOOK PRO...
1 year anniversary of Macbook Pro saga, almost seems like perfect timing for their 1 year "warranty" to run out
Suddenly the thing can hardly get online via wifi... It thinks it's connected to the internet but 90% of the time can't load a webpage, sometimes it goes on for like 10 seconds at a time but then shuts back off... no idea what's happening, everything else is connected to wifi, shitty laptop, phone, etc, but MacBook Pro just suddenly fucks up Tried unplugging the routers and whatnot but I know those aren't the issue Problem seems insanely retarded I'm running whatever the newest OS is Aight |

Bunch of people with similar problem and different fixes they tried here... would prob try a bunch of these if U haven't: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...rt=30&tstart=0
And if none of that works I would prob just do a "clean restore" of the comp and stuff Or you can try to install the beta of the NEXT OS X to see if there is maybe a dumb glitch in OS X Mavericks... You can download it here... it is really nice also https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ Does it happen just at your home wifi or other places... do you have one of those free cable WiFi networks you can try to connect to to see if those work fine |

def seems like something "isn't playing nice" with the router or some setting on the router or macbooks
When I had an iPad a while back, the internet would always randomly cut out on it all the time or would just start going insanely slow, and would only happen on the iPad... then I bought my own router and the problem immediately went away. idk |

stupid... it's like the modem picks one or two devices that it wants to not work... like sometimes my computer will work fine but my mom's won't, sometimes those work fine but my phone won't, i don't think my dad's computer has worked at all, wtf

At my parents' house, whenever a "new device" was added to the wireless it would fuck with the router. i.e. "normally" we'd have say, 2 desktops + 1 laptop recognized as wireless devices, but if I brought another laptop or a phone and connected to the wifi, it would fuck the whole thing up and would have to reset the modem or something. idk. For as much time as I spend on computer I don't how any of this shit works

Also, there is a program called inSSIDer that will show you details of all wireless networks around you. You can switch wireless channels if there are too many other connections on the same one, that helps with signal quality especially in a crowded area. I would try this before updating/upgrading your wireless router. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html Last edited by drave; 08-27-2014 at 05:47 AM. Reason: linkage |
