I dunno
they are losing Manny + Nomar.....it depends who they trade Nomar for. A-Rod will make the team better though, obviously. I like nomaaaaaaa but he was starting to shit the bed in the field lately. Once again though, Yash proves why he needs to banned. He is making people hate Boston teams even more |

If they kept Nomar and moved him to third for the season that would be pretty crazy, but I doubt that will happen.
Have there been any rumors on who they'd be getting for Nomar anyways? Besides, I still believe that the Yankees will win the division next year. |

Yeah I was saying the samething about Nomar going to 3rd but he would be a free agent next season and they are afraid he'd walk away next season.
But who cares.......why dont they just throw everything into this one season..f>uck the future......how long have they been looking out for the "future" and how far has that gotten them? 2nd place a few times Personally I think they should just "put all their eggs" into basket and just get one of the sickest lineups possible..and if they couldnt win with line up of 1. Damon 2. Mueller 3. Nomaa 4. A-Rod 5. Ortiz 6. Millar 7. Trot 8. whoever they get to replace Manny 9. Veritek And then if they can't win with a pitching staff of Schilling, Pedro, Lowe, Wakefield and whoever the 5th starter is going to be..then with Timlin coming out of the pen..and Foulke closing then it just isnt ment to be. |

I hope the SOX get all the great players they can get and then I can't wait to see the look on all the Sox fans faces when they don't even make it to the playoffs next year. That would be priceless!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, Magglio and A-Rod are better than Nomar and Manny, but I just like Manny and Nomar better :meh:

yeah, if they get A-rod and Ordonez I'd have higher expetations, better fielding, the hitting 2 v. 2 is better, and they upgraded the pitching staff.
That being said, word is, even if they ever get the A-rod deal done, the Ordonez deal is dead, and the sox would be dealing Nomar to the Dodgers for Prospects. If that's the case, A-rod doesn't = Nomar and Manny. But with the better pitching staff, and the pitching losses the Yanks have suffered... I'd still expect more from the Sox this year, although being a few outs away from going to the WS, there isn't much higher you can expect. |

Ok, new deadline set by the owner of the Rangers, for tomorrow night.
Now keep in mind, Larry Luccino (I think he has the President of Ops title) has said the talks are over and they have moved on. I'd like to see it get done, it seems eveyone wants to do it, the stupid MLBPA is trying to save face. I so hate the MLBPA... I'd be fine if the owners just locked them out and broke the union. They broke the union with the umps, given they made less money and wanted work. Seriously, if a player wants to re-do their contract and make less money (go to a different team or allow current team to sign more players) the MLBPA can block it. Now given, MLB can fight this to an arbitrator... but screw it, lock'em out, break the union and go from there. I can live with a year or two w/o baseball. and none of this "national pastime" crap and getting politicans involved. Lock'em out and toss away they key till they come back begging. |

yeah, I've heard a few different versions (some on ESPN, who it seems every baseball reporter has a different version).
Word has it, at the last min the Texas owner said "forget the money" player for player and he sox pulled out... Dunno... I think there's more to it, and I still wouldn't be shocked to see this get done, maybe next week, or near Spring Training. |

why would he or nomar even care how they play... Well Nomar will play good cause he's gonna get a new deal next year somewhere. Manny is gonna get his money no matter what.
