V
An extraterrestrial race arrives on Earth with seemingly good intentions, only to slowly reveal their true machinations the more ingrained into society they become. I think it's a remake of the 1984 TV series of the same name but I've never heard of it. I will watch the first episode and give my thoughts. |

Never saw that original series but the first episode of this one was absurdly rushed. The whole plot for the series was given away without any build up.

Saw the pilot and i'd say it's a little early to draw conclusions but I can tell you that the special effects in the 1984 version were more impressive for the time. I was only 6 when this was on tv and it didn't have the same kind of pace this show has the buildup up to the arrival itself was much quicker. This may be a spoiler but I doubt it will happen in this show is that this race of reptilian like aliens would eat mice needless to say I was too young to be watching something like this.

I liked the pilot. Took me back to my pup years, too. They cast that lead V pretty well, she looks a lot like the lady from the old series.

The original was tits for the time. Doesn't really hold up all that well though. I watched bits and pieces on Syfy last week as they did the build for the remake.
I really enjoyed the pilot. Can't tell if the formula will last, but I was really impressed. |

I think they are showing 4 episodes and then taking a break until March. Pretty gay really, but at least Lost will be back before that to help me maintain my erection.

I remember V from my childhood. Ten years ago I got to see it again but I remember other bits from it that weren't in the series (one of the visitors trying to poison another). I was just reading up there about a second series that came out after the first.

The lizard baby from the original scarred me for life.
I don't think the re-make is going to be on in the UK until 2010. Given I can never be bothered downloading stuff, I'm in for a long wait to see it. |

I don't remember the original, but I'd like to see this one. Though, I know the original had Michael ironside in it. Michal Ironside = the man.

But you are right, the whole thing was extremely rushed, they jammed the story of the mini series into a one hour episode. It was at best - I'll d/l the second episode and go from there. |

I've only seen the first episode, but it was interesting. I agree, very rushed. They probably should have held off on the FBI guy revealing himself. Would have made for a nice build and a giant wtf.

I was a fan of the mini series which I saw at a young age. Dunno if I'll bother with this one. Is it REALLY worth it?

I enjoyed the pilot, but thought the 2nd ep was a little underwhelming. Hopefully this gets better.

The 1st episode crammed too much in, 2nd episode was kinda lame, 3rd episode is easily the best so far, and the last show was good enough I suppose.

I've liked the last couple of episodes. Although the whole show 4 episodes and then wait 4 months to show the other ones is such a terrible idea.

Yep they only taped 4 shows to see how it would do ratings wise and decide wether or not to pick it up and obviously they did. At first I though it was being delayed since Lost was starting early next year but I don't think that the case. I'm assuming though that it will be on the same nights as they originally were and that they will run partly through the summer.
