Harley without the accent still irks me, but having grown up with the animated series, it's pretty much ingrained into me. Probably won't bother most other people.

Regardless, looks like a cool movie. Will likely enjoy it.

Just can't see what people are seeing in this... Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I felt like all the "humor" was really forced, and Margot Robbie just came off as... bad. Will Smith even seemed to be just phoning it in. The whole trailer felt like they were trying to ape Guardians of the Galaxy, and to me it felt like they failed.

Meh, just don't see it. Everything is just so ugly, and none of the actors with speaking lines in the trailer were worth a damn. Normally I can see why people like something even when I myself don't like it, but with this one I honestly can't see it. It's an enigma to me. Like I've seen tons of movies do exactly what this one is doing and get panned before the trailer even came out yet this one is getting a pass? Why? I don't get people anymore...

my fiancee watched the trailer and immediately was like "...where is harley's accent?"

she was incensed, having a long-standing love of the character

so it's not just you

but i agree, it mostly looks ok

i am hoping that the joker is not actually part of the squad; in no reality could i conceive him taking orders from anyone, even amanda waller, so i hope he's actually a wild card working against them to try and get harley out

still not sold on his look, though leto's characterisation doesn't seem as awful as it could've been. will still hold off judgment until i have seen the film in full. but the physical presentation still irks me. i know a lot of other people like it/have grown to deal with it, and i've certainly *softened* on it, but the closest he reminds me of any 'iconic' depiction of joker is when he's wearing the tux. reminds me of that well-known alex ross painting a bunch.

I don't feel like I absolutely have to go see it, but the action and characters look interesting enoughthat it looks like it could be a fun watch, especially as a comic fan.

Some of your criticisms may be valid but so what? This isn't a performance art piece, it's a popcorn flick. That's not to say a popcorn flick can't be held to a higher standard, but myself and I think others are at least able to relax our inner critic and look foward to this film for what it is.

I get where diehard fans are bitching about the "accent" as it seems a central part to the character. However, if things are played well, the accent can be overlooked.

Still very skeptical about the Leto Joker though. The laugh where he was laying in the middle of all the blades sounded great, still waiting to see how the character is done though.

Looks fun enough, but I'm mostly with Wishbone on this one. I'm kinda "bored" of the Joker, and I've never understood the appeal of Harley Quin. Don't really care for the rest of the characters.

I'll go see it anyway, since I'm a comic fan (mostly Marvel), but as other people have said, this just looks like a typical dark and gloomy DC version of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Harley's accent isn't make or break for me but it would have been nice. She seems intact otherwise. Joker is Joker. I mean we can't wait just line him up with TDK Joker because he's almost out of context. We are never getting something like that again with Joker. Moving on.

TDK Joker was great and all, but I wish people would stop using it as the benchmark for a good representation of the Joker. Honestly Jack Nicholson was the closest we've ever gotten to a true adaptation of the Joker in a movie, and even he wasn't as accurate as he could have been. TDK Joker was an amazing character, but he lacked a lot of what makes the Joker the Joker. Of course the Nolan films as a whole lacked a lot of what makes the Batman mythos the Batman mythos so it's no surprise that its Joker wouldn't quite hit it.

As for Leto's Joker, well, it is probably the farthest from the character we've ever seen in terms of presentation. He doesn't fit the more modern psycho monster Joker, but he doesn't fit the old school Clown Prince of Crime Joker either. Yeah, his performance might end up being decent (though given what we've seen from other characters I'm not holding my breath), but the look is just god awful. How can anyone justify that? It'd be like having Superman start rocking Jordans and wearing a big ass chain around his neck. If you're into hip-hop culture that's fine, but it has no place with these characters, period.

Honestly Jack Nicholson was the closest we've ever gotten to a true adaptation of the Joker in a movie, and even he wasn't as accurate as he could have been. TDK Joker was an amazing character, but he lacked a lot of what makes the Joker the Joker. Of course the Nolan films as a whole lacked a lot of what makes the Batman mythos the Batman mythos so it's no surprise that its Joker wouldn't quite hit it.

As for Leto's Joker, well, it is probably the farthest from the character we've ever seen in terms of presentation. He doesn't fit the more modern psycho monster Joker, but he doesn't fit the old school Clown Prince of Crime Joker either. Yeah, his performance might end up being decent (though given what we've seen from other characters I'm not holding my breath), but the look is just god awful. How can anyone justify that? It'd be like having Superman start rocking Jordans and wearing a big ass chain around his neck. If you're into hip-hop culture that's fine, but it has no place with these characters, period.

Lol "Rush Limbaugh" You're one of the most ridiculous people I've seen on this forum, and that's saying something. You continue to amaze me every time you post or reply to me. Never change, bro.

And honestly I could care less what people "here" thought of TDK's Joker. This forum is a mixed bag with some of the oddest (not necessarily worst mind you) opinions I've ever seen on the internet. IRL I've never met a person who thought TDK Joker looked bad after seeing the reveal of it. A couple people I know did say it looked a little forced with the smudged facepaint and ratty hair, but for the most part people were hugely surprised by how good it looked after they had bitched about Ledger's casting, something I didn't do for Ledger or Leto's casting because honestly the casting doesn't matter. Who'd have thought that Luke Skywalker would turn out to be the most iconic Joker voice of all time after all? But we're past casting now. We've seen the actual look. If you honestly don't think there's something wrong with that costume then you're an idiot, period. Even people who are supporting the movie have said that the costume is shit.

Also that "rumor" about it being Jason Todd is bullocks. Even if it does turn out to be true, which I'd be willing to bet it won't, it's still probably the dumbest thing DC could have done. Well, not really I guess. DC's live action films have already done waaaaay too much dumb shit to ever say any single act is "the worst they've ever done" at this point. What was once a series of small disasters is now a mega disaster of epic proportions lol.
