Just saw this movie. Absolutely fantastic. May be my new favorite Marvel film. Wonder what the hell is going to happen on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. though....

Excellent movie. Very packed, thoroughly entertaining, with probably the most realistic action choreography. This becomes the movie that changes the MCU, in so many ways. The amount of foreshadowing in the script and the visuals will make you want to watch it over and over again - there is a lot alluded to.
The Winter Soldier was fantastic. Albeit, the theater i saw this in CUT the second post credit scene. Is it up somewhere? I know what happens, but seeing is believing. Any help? |

Marvel seems to have shifted that way... in that they will put a "significant" mid-credit scene, and then a bit of a "nice, but not essential" post-credit scene. Avengers, Thor: TDK, and now Winter Soldier have all gone that route. I think Iron Man 3 only had the one after credit scene, unless I am completely forgetting it.

This was awesome, and a game changer. Not using Spoiler tags here, we're passed that.
- The Winter Soldier is fucking terrifying. Like... the Terminator. Sort of like how Bane in DKR appears and somebody will die; that's Winter. Only in his case shit blows up as well. Not an once of fatigue or misstep or anything. You are dead. His arm was a great effect and counter-point to Cap's shield. And I love how he was kept mostly off key, not eating too much of the story. Every time he appeared things got awesome. - This movie is indeed a game changer, though really it does this by killing off a "character" - SHIELD. SHIELD was the glue between all the Phase 1 films, and it seems it has outlived its usefulness. What's also wild is how SHIELD is essentially HYDRA. It seems the deal with Zola back in The First Avenger really came back to bite them in the ass. It wasn't the usual double-agent that had to be rooted out, or even a shadow cabinet. HYDRA was SHIELD. There was no way to simply disconnect or amputate it, not without disassembling SHIELD itself. The Agents of SHIELD show just became required viewing. It picked up seriously after the train episode, but now it's on a fucking roller coaster of possibilities. - Of course Senator Stern was HYDRA. - Sharon Carter introduced. Chris Evans has two movies left (Avengers 2, Cap 3). Winter Soldier has nine more appearances. I'm just saying guys... - Maria Hill getting a job at Stark Industries is something I wanna see play out. - THE TWINS. It seems the Baron is using Loki's staff, which we can all safely assume was the Mind Gem all along, to use them as their own super-friends. This was probably inspired by Fury's Avengers Initiative - HYDRA wants super people, too. They have, as far as we saw, three successful ones (Bucky, Wanda, Pietro). Could they create/find more by Avengers 2? SHIELD has/had Blonsky in cryo-jail as revealed a few weeks ago on the show. Have you any idea how fucked up that is to know now?! - The whole preemptive strike thing is eerie in that we're pretty headed in that very direction. I don't think Cap 2 was trying that hard to make any political points, but you gotta imagine where the line is when we really did drone strike people on 'maybe'. That's just an aside, though. - I have this sinking feeling that old apartment with the hidden key in that flashback will be important later. - Wonder how Stark's gonna feel that his father was murdered by HYDRA/SHIELD. And on that, Stark now has to watch his tech yet again being used for evil. I'm sure he'll be miffed about that. |

SHIELD itself won't be going away mind. HYDRA was just using it as a cover. At least this head of HYDRA was. All you have to do is root out the bad agents, the ones that are HYDRA through and through, set up Coulson as Director with his team as security council and there you go. The rest of HYDRA though, with access to a lot of shit, that's gonna be the main issue. And with Strucker making the fatal mistake of letting Cap take a few of his own bases down and Zola still out there but not under anyone's control? By Cap 3 we might be seeing the fall of HYDRA entirely just in time for a Red Skull to come back and use what's left of the organization to better serve Thanos.

There's no way to know who's HYDRA through and through. Fury's best friend was head of HYDRA!
And Coulson's team... I guess we can rule out Skye, Ward, and Coulson himself. FitzSimmons and especially May don't have as fleshed out pasts. Then there's Garret and his boy. Victoria Hand is either a high ranking HYDRA operative or just a major bitch. |

Baron Zemo is the only way to go in Cap 3. They have to. Then we can get a Thunderbolts franchise!

All you see is the Bucky memorial and Bucky is wearing a hat and civilian clothes. He looks at it and he looks like he begins to remember his past.

Was it just me or does the guy that played Bucky look a lot like Aaron Paul? Kept expecting Winter Soldier to end a sentence with "BITCH!"

This movie was so good. Glad we get to see immediate fallout from it without having to wait over a year until the next (Earth based) Marvel movie.

Really really hope that Black Widow gets a spin-off from this movie. With her past now out in the open, it would be cool if we get a movie exploring the ramifications of that... explore her origins some and have her tie up some loose ends from her old life that have resurfaced.

Once she films her Ultron scenes and does her mother thing, I'm betting she'll have her movie or at least a movie where she has top billing but features other heroes.
