In the comics she's just a major bitch, that misguidedly follows Norman Osborn for his less insane ideas on how to make the world a better place. Afterwards, Cap trusts her enough to put her with the New Avengers. That said, it's entirely possible she is misguidedly following Hydra in this case, as their goal in the movies is to make the world better. STill can't see it though. Hydra's evil methods are far less subtle than Norman's and I can't see the character going along with it. |

I'm assuming so, along with JARVIS and Vision.

Yep, now it seems they are Hydra's own Avengers Initiative.

I don't see them going with the Death of Captain America storyline, whatever the contracts. Either Evans signs a new contract or I don't fucking know. There is just no way they will let Sebastian Stan take over the shield.

Yeah they totally would. They're not above recasting, and this isn't a stunt thing - it's source accurate. That little sequence where Bucky used Cap's shield against him and struck a pose can't be ignored considering the comic history. Evan's contract is nearing, and he's spoke about doing something else after being a superhero even before the MCU. Stan has a wild number of movies ahead of him. So unless there's a Winter Soldier film series coming, he's almost certainly the second Captain America.

They'll recast. Its inevitable really, particularly in RDJ's case.
Eventually these support characters will get pushed to the front while the "big 3" of Cap, Thor, and Iron Man take a hiatus. |

This is a decade plus "film universe".
They will keep introducing new characters and phase out others as well as actors. Even a guy like Iron Man gets stale after 5 movies so he will move to the back and new characters will fill out the 2 movies a year for the next 10 years. I have no doubt that Antman was selected as Paul Rudd to fill the fun comedy niche that RDJ fills. as he winds down Antman will get a few movies and will then hand off to some new line. |

There have been several rosters since the government T-bolts started, so they have lots of options.
Songbird has been a constant, even more so than Zemo, so that's the only character I'd say for sure. |

They should make a buddy-cop/hero movie with War Machine and Falcon.

You need opposing personalities for something like that. Falcon and Patriot may get along too well for comedic friction. What you want is something like Falcon and Fandall.

I dunno about that. If he was picked, he's a good enough actor where I would take a wait and see approach, but he wouldn't be my first pick.

I'll suggest Sam Rockwell as I do for any movie role that ever comes up

Sam Rockwell's already had his shot in the MCU, sadly.

Sam Rockwell isn't dead, and him appearing in a One Shot pretty much means he's still in the game.

I kinda doubt anybody here is in the dark in any case, we've been pretty open about it since launch in both threads. In any case; noted. |

Finally got around to watching this, I really liked it even though I'm not really a comic book fan, in fact I was feeling Superhero burnout. They did a good job of establishing lots of characters and avoiding bloat. I liked how they incorporated some post Watergate paranoia into the plot but also managed to avoid post Dark Knight brooding and darkness. I also prefer well choreographed fight scenes and practical effects over CGI spectacle. Cool movie, 8/10 I say.
