About Marsters work on the film:

But JM’s logic is his character isn’t bothered by some rock blowing up. He only has to dodge his enemies’ blasts. Rock isn’t a problem for the supervillain.

That's kind of a bullshit arguement. Iron Man, Spider-man, Batman Begins were all very close to the source material, yet were still great movies. Did you not see those, and go read the comics instead?

Like I've said a hundred times. I don't care about little things, but core elements should be used in an adaptation. Or else it's not an adaptation is it?

Its just someone's idea of an action movie using names from dbz.

Those three movies captured the mood and feel of the comics well, but were not as close to source material as you think (though Spider-Man always had a filmable origin).

I wouldn't call a monkey tail a core element, it was more like one of the many 'rules' to adjust combat in DBZ when the plot called for it. Lets not forget most of DBZ's plots were wacky reasons to see two powerful characters fight in the first place, the Dragonball and Frieza Saga being the only real stories worth telling. I like to think the Frieza Saga is a sequel to the Dragonball thing.

I can honestly say that this is one of the few movies to ever come out that I know its gonna such horribly.....but I cant wait to go see it.

I am going to laugh if this movie turns out to be great. Although if it is indeed anything better than absolute shit it will indicate that hell has frozen over.

I would rather them do a 4th series of the anime than this shit, they are ruining a legacy.

What's next, live action Akira? That might actually be good though.

Anyway, a 4th DB series would be nice; but that wouldn't stop a live action series. I wouldn't mind both going on. Dragon Ball coming back to the forefront and all that.

ROFL I noticed. Leonardo Dicaprio is behind it or something. It is being split into 2 parts and made by WB and part 1 is supposedly coming in summer 2009. It is supposedly to follow the manga more closely than the anime did. Part 1 covers the first 3 'issues' and the second part covers the last 3.
