From PWInsider:
TNA posted the following statement from President Dixie Carter this afternoon: "Jesse Sorensen has sustained a C1 vertebrae fracture with spinal cord edema. He is slowly regaining feeling and movement in his arms and legs. He wants to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Once we speak to the neurosurgeon, we will pass on more details." |

well that's just fucking stupid, he basically turns himself into a fucking missile by coming down at that angle. prick.
"fucktard does something stupid that he has no business doing and hurts somebody. to top it off, it looks like complete shit also". Far too common a story. Shame Sorenson didn't just move out of the fucking way. |

I think the running commentary speaks volumes about how people view the talent roster of TNA X-Div... or even just lower-tier wrestlers altogether, around here. Botched high-risk spot between Ion/Sorensen and "Flippy McFlipperton shouldn't be doing all that bullshit!!1!". Miz misses R-Truth, and he's not getting railed nearly as much because he's the fucking Miz, an established WWE guy that will get the benefit of the doubt, even though Killings could have easly fell on his own damn head. The only true difference here is someone got hurt in one and the other was lucky. Those are the risks they take. We could play pass the blame all day, but at the end of the day, that could have happened to anyone on any given night. Yes, even from Daniels' BME. "The Cameraman" was released from the aftermath of a missed mark from an Undertaker dive a couple years back. No one really mentioned past the Royal Rumble how Hunico could have suffered the same fate because Camacho was ALL THE WAY on the other side of the ring. I'm not blaming either guy. It was a damned accident. Those occasionally happen in wrestling. Hell, one of the greatest mat wrestlers of all time (Kurt Angle) has had some pretty nasty looking/landing moonsaults. So has Lesnar. And Rey Rey. And both Hardys. Even goddamn Jericho. No one is calling for any of their heads. This one guy fucks up once, and the IWC Gestapo wants to railroad him out of the business. Get the fuck outta here with that noise. The best that can come out of this is the following progression: Ion and TNA spin this into character development, Xema doesn't get discouraged because he hurt someone to the point where he becomes self-conscious and even more dangerous due to "safety overcompensation", checks on Jesse out of decent human compassion, Sorensen makes a full recovery, they play this up into an angle when Jesse returns, and life moves on. No one needs to be bitter or little about this. It would be a different story if either guy were drunk or high or something. That's my thought on the matter, and that's all I'm saying. Flame away if you want. |

I'm sorry but that's quite a ridiculous post on quite a few levels. There is a huge difference between somebodies massive incompetence and hesitation leading to somebody getting seriously hurt and the mis-communication/mis-timing/awkward landings etc that usually leads to injury.

ANYONE ELSE would've had their shoulder in Xema's midsection. That's how you're trained. Sorrenson is green and made a mistake. He's paying for it. Xema feels bad, but he has done that move longer than Sorrenson has been wrestling and hasn't KO'd anyone else with it. There's no other way to look at the situation.

He's been doing that horrible looking knees tucked to the face moonsault for ages? He should feel bad for doing ugly moves, let alone the injury.

I would seriously give up one of my balls to see a 2-3 year off and on program between CM Punk (heel) and James Storm (face).

You only have to look at other stuff of his, the guy is fucking reckless. Congratulations, you can do some flips. Means absolutely fuck all if you can't do it safely or even make it look half decent. I mean, the video is right there plain as day to see for everybody. There is no defending him. He fucked up and somebody else got hurt because of it. |

Don't think I'd go that far but that would be an awesome program though 2-3 years seems a tad long don't ya think? Honestly I'd just like to see James Storm as he is now you know same gimmick, same name, same theme in WWE. The guy is good in the ring and perfectly acceptable on the mic as a face. Plus I love the whole southern/cowboy gimmick(could be the southwesterner in me). Not enough guys who use that today.

Also on the whole Ion/Sorenson thing I'm not gonna go and tell Xema to "Get the hell out" or anything. I do feel it was more his fault, but it was still an accident, and accidents happen in wrestling. The guy should get demoted on the card for it no doubt, but as JR usta say "It aint ballet."

finally got hold of my Austin blu-ray last night since it's been sitting "elsewhere" since Christmas, just looking through the listings
Zamboni 3:16 Raw – 28th September, 1998 Paging Dr. Austin Raw – 5th October, 1998 McMahon’s Cement Corvette Raw – 12th October, 1998 Bang 3:16 Raw – 19th October, 1998 those segments, all of which are now pretty "hugely famous" happened on consecutive weeks, staggering. WWE/F was just on all kinds of fire back then |

I know, when I was watching it, I almost thought I had started watching the greatest episodes of Raw in that period.
Then it all culminates with Deadly Game and The Rock winning the tournament and as a 2 hour show, Raw gets even better |
