NBA 2012-2013 Thread
The preseason ended last night and I am very optimistic about the Hornets.. We def need Gordon to come back and stay healthy because he is our best offensive player.. The rest of the team is young but with the additions of Unibrow Davis and Rivers, NOLA should atleast complete for a playoff spot in the west..
I'm gonna try to go to the Spurs game on Wednesday night.. |

I hope the Hornets do well. I really like Anthony Davis. I see the Lakers ending up as the 2nd-3rd seed in the west, making the Finals, then I don't know.

Damn..I guess he had to be traded. 2 first rounders next year as well, hopefully top 10. This is big..no way they will be a top seed . I can see top 4 maybe 3 for the playoffs

Big loss for the Thunder but then again he was a bit too stubborn since the last offer was just $5 million less than his max request. Don't think he ever offered a range value and just kept pushing for the max.
Thunder made out pretty well in terms of the future with the set of picks they got. |

That trade eliminates any hope there may have been to avoiding a Heat/Lakers Finals. I just can't see it ending any other way, barring injury.

While teams like the Celtics and Thunder are still very good, I just don't see them being able to beat the Heat or Lakers in a 7 game series...again barring injury. |

ESPN did once the Lakers got Nash and Dwight.
They even went as far considering the Thunder (pre-trade), Spurs (experience), and Celtics (got younger) as the only legit spoilers. Everyone else was basically hinted as having no chance or being more of a shock than legit force. Although they did consider Minnesota for some strange reason as the 3rd best team in the West before the recent injury to Love I think. |

James Harden traded... Feels like the Lakers path to the finals got a little clearer even though they're picking up Kevin Martin. He's a good scorer, but they had trouble balancing Westbrook's desire to score with flowing through Durant and I don't think Durant is as domineering as Kobe to where he'd say how things were going to work.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...ouston-rockets I'm predicting Celtics vs. Lakers in the finals with Boston pulling it out in 7. |

Seriously lost a lot of respect for Harden. Leaving OKC just because they couldn't afford a max deal... Harden, Westbrook and KD35 could have ruled the West for years to come, but he decided to be selfish and accept more money to be a starter on a team that will not contend for a title. Disappointing, but it makes the Lakers chances of making the Finals way better.

He declined to sign the 4 year 55 million dollar extension. What does that show? That he doesn't wanna be there. He was gonna bounce at the end of the year anyway, because OKC didn't have the money to give him the deal Houston is gonna give him. He's a piece of shit.

They just didn't want to be luxury taxed. Which was more important to them then keeping the team together.

OKC isnt a Metropolis like those cities. The Buffalo Bills sabres sell out every game but dont pull in nearly the revenue of the Rangers or Maple Leafs. Different sport, same point. Corporate Suites are a big factor as is ticket price. |

I guess I'm just mad there's no loyalty in sports anymore. Oh well. At the end of the day, it makes the Lakers the odds on favorite to come out of the West.
