Bleacher Report rant.... A Love/Hate relationship....
I my wrestling news fix from various sources, podcasts, and YouTube channels.
Then there is Bleacher Report.... I really don't think they have a really good bead on wrestling. Well at least some of the writers. The guy that writes the Arm Chair booking is pretty good. They do a admirable job on NXT reports. But everything else is a coin flip. What got me was when they said that NXT needed to start home growing talent instead of raiding the indies because the Indy style yields a short shelf life in the WWE when they start going on the road. They listed Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan as examples. But I think we know better. Have they ever heard of RVD? Neville is doing pretty well since he arrived. They don't point out that some of these injuries were left just patched up because you don't make enough money to get the treatment that WWE can offer. My example of this is when my favorite Indy women's wrestler Athena had to save up to get the treatment that she needed. Check out the team stream if you dare and try not to super kick your screen at some of the crazy stuff that comes out. Heck they even stop checking out TNA and they don't cover Lucha Underground or ROH. As a true wrestling reporter isn't one of the goals to grow the fan base of the lesser known sport? I don't care how few people watch Impact, it's on and they should cover it to bring attention to it. My advice, get my hometown hero Mike Mooneyham in the mix and have him write or at least edit some of these articles. So they don't sound like utter and complete crazies.... /rant Know the conflict within before facing the conflict without.... Duke L'Orange: TPWW's resident Archer fan!!! I imagine the hits they get on their site when discussing WWE in a given week dwarfs whatever hits they would get from an entire year's worth of TNA coverage. Why bother?
The rest of this just seems more suited to the comments section of an actual BR column. |

Lol nobody cares about TNA/ROH/etc.
And he's 100% about the indy style causing injuries. |

I love it when they post things like "5 reasons Ryback MUST beat Bray Wyatt"; and then someone posts "Bray Wyatt is ruined if he doesn't win". Then they both turn out to be wrong. I sometimes go there for a read because I love reading about wrestling, but some of them are obviously just fans having a chin-wag.

This is why I read bleacher report, because they do a good job on sports reporting as a whole. The comments are terrible period. The reason I brought it over here is because the community over here is more knowledgeable even though we have our share of trollers over here. I enjoy the fact that I can get information on anything by asking.

The issue is the fact that WWE has no real off time for the body to recover. I think if the WWE rotated guys on and off shows, I think the injuries will be kept to a minimum. |

If bleacher report was any good they wouldn't be the bleacher report. They'd be At least home plate club seats report! They're not even the Pepsi porch bleacher report! #CoPa

Worst seat ever was grandstand reserve at tiger stadium section 521. There was a post block your view of first base and third base. Awesome!

You do make valid points... Time will tell as the Indy darlings come to the main roster and deal with he grind. Then we can revisit and speak on this again. |

He was arguing wear and tear. Not injuries. The comparison between all those "non-indy" guys and Daniel Bryan doesn't work.

As for wear and tear I never said it didn't cause wear and tear. However, Gertner would apparently have you believe the style causes guys to have drastically shorter careers overall when that's statistically not really the case. |

"As a true wrestling reporter isn't one of the goals to grow the fan base of the lesser known sport?"
No, a wrestling reporter doesn't have to point out indy feds if they don't want to. If they don't think the company is newsworthy they don't cover it. Or if the audience demands that they cover it than it will be covered. They cover what is popular so it will be read and commented on. They don't have to point out things that people should watch. They aren't advertisers. They are reporters. |
