I was trying to think outside the box a bit but I decided to decline some of my other picks. I wanted to include Norman Osborn but I didn't know if it would be cheating since he would quite obviously use all of H.A.M.M.E.R. Also, he is a fucking lunatic so trust could be a problem. Fun game though.

Figgy, I was debating whether to start on FF cause I'm already reading so many series but I think I'll probably do it now. I almost did it the other day but then got distracted.

He has a Transformation Cog and a central nervous system like every other Transformer, but it's not as easy as pulling a plug.

- He's about as large as the Earth itself, giving him a surface area requiring a map to traverse.
- That makes running around inside him more difficult, as you would need to know where you're going.
- Also, Unicron has powerful anti-body measures that include scissored tentacles that chase you down.

And the Foot Clan are probably running around in there eating pizza and shit.

Well fuck. Yeah. I'm going to need some sort of amplification for Magneto if that's going to work. Should have Stark try to figure that out. I would've been better off trying to temporarily control Phoenix with nanites or some shit.

1. Captain America-Leader
Captain America has led the Avengers through the thick and the thin. I am convinced that the leadership of this man is the equivalent of having an 8 ball that is always right. While he would not stand a chance against the enemy proposed int his scenario alone, I am convinced his master strategic planning would be essential for defeating Darkseid.

2. Heavy hitter- Superman

I really can't add anything else to this. Everyone has said why Superman is a fundamental part of this team.

3. Stealth operations and research- Batman

I feel like the Dark Knight is the king of stealth and research. The man is the McGyver of the comic book world and can figure out how to defeat anyone. I am sure he would be able to come up with a tool or a distraction big enough to get Darkseids attention.

4. Thor-blaster

While I feel that Supes has it all when it comes to defense and raw power, Thor wins when it comes to blast power. A god would be essential for the defeat of Darkseid. Hopefully with his connection to the immortal world, he would be able to find some more avantgarde methods.

5. Loki- the setup

Loki is the one character that can trick even the purest of the pure. I am sure he could weasel his way close enough to Darkseid to learn his weak spots. While having Loki and Thor in the same team might seem insane, Loki has shown a sense of rationality in the past when it comes to competing with bigger threats. After all, he is the one who deserves to kill Thor, not Darkseid.

Hot Thread for real. Fun idea.

Now I am nowhere near as versed on these subjects as you guys, so take it easy on me if my plans come out retarded.

Team Leader: Just to make this more interesting, this team is put together by my Favorite character - Cable. Cable Comes back from a future destroyed by Darkseid. He brings with him knowledge of the fight and enemy that he uses to recruit a team and prepare them for the coming war.

Muscle: OH ITS THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH. Another of my favorites. The Irresistible Force provides physical power for this team. The idea of Jugs whipping through the foot clan, and then getting loose within Unicron and laying waste to his innards appeals to me. Jugs tearing through wall after wall, disabling the Cron from the inside whilst his team works their magic seems like a good plan to me.

Stealth: Keeping in the trend of my favorites...Gambit. The Former Thief provides and ability to sneak, steal, coerce and Con any forces of Darkseid. he will also provide witty commentary and decent firepower.

Major Firepower: Franklin Richards. Much like Goku and Gohan, we will find our salvation in the power of a child. Franklin Richards is by far the most powerful mutant and is on par with the Celestial beings. His ability to Warp Reality and Even Molecules will allow the destruction of Unicron, and combat with Darkseid. Though his powers will need to be unlocked through tragedy. Yes, we need him to go Super Saiyan 2. Worst case scenario, with a loss he can still create us a new reality to live in.

Wild Card: Once again the all powerful Galactus comes forth to protect the Galaxy from the Infinity Gauntlet. Even he knows the dangers of allowing a being to have the powers that Darkseid now possesses. This war cannot be won without him, but the fear is at what cost? After Darkseid is defeated, are we just leaving ourselves open to defeat by our former team-mate.

Batman: Team Leader. I need a guy whose seen the worst of the worse. And when you tangled with The Joker, Raz al'Ghul, Mr. Freeze, and the Scarecrow, just to name a few, you're man enough to lead this superteam. I would have picked Tony Stark, but seeing as how he's running S.H.I.E.L.D after the Civil War and got an ego the size of New York, Bruce Wayne and his tech and resources were a much safer bet.

Doctor Strange: Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, Superteam Swingman Extrordinaire. During the Marvel Civil War, 2 factions went neutral and wanted nothing to do it the bullshit. The X-Men were 1, and Doctor Strange was the other. I mean come on, who wants to mess with a guy who knows EVERY magic trick in the book. When the planet is in danger, the Doctor is always on call. Healer (former surgeon BTW), magical damage dealer, the man can do it all. Leave your arrogance at home.

Spider-Man. Infiltrator, back-up genius. Why go to battle with 1 Knight of New York when you can have 2? Sure, the man has been in a slump since he made that deal with the Devil. He wouldn't work for Stark since he's sorta to blame for him going public. And he and Strange are buddies. And I'm not sure where is mind will be in this battle. But I believe his battle will put him back on track to the Peter Parker we all know and love. When the time comes, Strange will open a portal inside Unicron and Peter Parker will be inside putting his scientific know-how to good use and putting down Unicron for good.

Black Bolt: Paul Muad'Dib Atreides' worse nightmare, Heavy hi.......speaker. I went with one of the few unknown bad boys in the Marvel universe to recruit because everyone would be expecting Superman, Thor, Hulk, Juggernaut, etc. to bring the pain. But Black Bolt would not only lay down a few punches, he could kill with a whisper. Hell even a mutter could probably blow your ear drums and scramble your brain. Strange could call him up since they're Illuminati members, and you know they're all together to make sure Earth doesn't go too crazy while on their watch. Darkseid won't know what hit him.

Hal Jordan AKA Green Lantern: X-Factor. I believe in equality. And since I'm not gonna have a stock team of Marvel players follow a DC general, I'm gonna keep this team balanced and in unified. The Lantern is for all intents and purposes, a space cop. And I want him on the streets when the foot clan are causing mayhem. With the power of will and wisecracks on his side, Shredder's goons are no match for the first human Green Lantern. And if things get hairy, he could always send out the signal for the rest of the Corps. to back him up.

I think modern day Galactus would leave earth alone. The amount of times that earth's superheroes have aided the universe wouldn't be lost on Galactus. He'd have to realize it's too important to consume.

1) Batman (Leader) - Brilliant tactical mind, incredible wealth and an arsenal of gadgets and devices that could aid in the fight.

2) Juggernaut - You need brute force when dealing with brute force and also to defend the team, in particular the next pick

3) Leech - Since Juggernaut is not a mutant, Leech doesn't affect him. He protects him and gets him close enough to Darkseid to drain his powers.

4) Iron Man - His ability to fly and deal heavy damage from above and as with Batman, his wealth and arsenal.

5) The Flash - Incredible speed to be used for distraction and blindsides.

During Fear Itself, The original Juggernaut, who was one of the Serpents Worthy, was heading towards Utopia and nothing could stop him. Superman

There really isn't any excuse not to have Superman on the team, other than that he's not as cool as Batman or Black Panther or whoever. But when the universe is on the line like it would be against the force we're talking about here, we want results over style and cool points for creativity, and there's no one who can bring results like Big Blue.

He's got the physical strength, speed, and energy projection to duke it out with anyone in either the DC or Marvel Universe and win more often than not. Just as important are his qualities of leadership and inspiration, the guy who can really rally the good guys even when things are looking bad, which set him above similar powerhouses like Sentry or Captain Marvel.

Not to mention he's the most visible target, and tough enough to handle just about any onslaught to keep the big bad guys busy while the rest of the team does their thing.

Reed Richards

Richards is a super-genius who goes pretty well unparalleled in either universe. I mean, they can go on and on about how awesome Batman is, but Richards whips up machines and equipment that makes the toys in the Batcave look like, well, toys. And dealing with something like a Gauntlet-wielding Darkseid, you're going to need someone who's used to creating stuff that rips the fabric of reality a new butthole.

Wonder Woman

I'm kind of surprised nobody has gone with Diana yet. Physically, she's on the same level as Superman, and armed with an arsenal of magically-enhanced weapons that would give her an advantage over even Clark, not to mention a lifetime of combat and strategic training among the Amazons, the most elite warriors on the planet. You send in Superman to take on Darkseid and a cosmic type to deal with Unicron, but when you want to single-handedly defeat an entire army like the Foot, there's really nobody better-equipped for it than Wonder Woman.

Nova

Speaking of a cosmic type to deal with Unicron, here's a good dark horse. A great cosmic-level hero, especially if he's in complete control of the Nova Force. At full power, he could manipulate gravity to the point where he could just whip up a few black holes to swallow the baddies whole, or at least in the case of Darkseid, slow him down enough for Superman to clean his clock.

SPOILER: show


The Flash

Rounding out the team is good ol' Barry, whose super-speed can be used to any number of effects that can seriously change the scope of the battle. Whether it's immobilizing the Foot Clan by the hundreds within the span of a second, wreaking havoc on Unicron from the inside, or in a real pinch, speeding through time via the Cosmic Treadmill to make sure Darkseid doesn't get the Infinity Gems in the first place, you really can't underestimate the usefulness of a guy who can move at the Speed of Light.
