How much do you want your big men to "fly"?
You know, I was thinking about this question the other day...... ironically enough after I dropkicked a 6 ft 5 guy in the face at a show . So Ryback has started incorporating more "high flying" stuff into his repertoire (top rope splash, topé to the outside and a few others) and even Big Show is breaking out some stuff like a sunset flip and second rope elbow. My question is, would you rather see a big man wrestle like a "big man" or would you rather see them doing stuff an "average" size wrestler would do? I like seeing big men do high flying things as long as it doesn't look forced. The idea of Big Show doing a shooting star makes me cream my pants.

Depends on how you define big man. Ryback has a certain amount of agility and that offence looks impressive and gives him some variation in his matches.
However, I have no desire to see Big Show do anything like that. The elbow on Miz looked painful and dangerous and when you are that size, I think it's an accident waiting to happen. Big Show is not agile enough anymore and tbh, it slows down the match rather than adds to it. |

Break out a high flying move once in a blue moon to make it special. Other than that, wrestle like a big man.

Yeah, it's gotta make sense. If you're a big brute, it wouldn't make sense to constantly try to be "flashy" to win matches.

I think big men flying tends to look awkward. Although, I was always fond of the taker/kane flying clothesline.

Depends on the wrestler and if its fits what the WWE (or any other promotion) is trying to portray for that big man. A few big men get to show off some agility with their characters but for the most part they are just seen as mat-based or beast/monster type characters, at least in the WWE.
Someone like Big Show, a splash or elbow from the ropes works well since that's a typical big man type move while if he started to bust out frog splashes or dives to the outside, it would look awkward with how he's been portrayed over the years. |

As long as they know what they're doing I'm fine with it.
Just don't botch any high-flying moves, à la Lesnar in his match with Angle for the Undisputed WWE Championship @ WM XIX: |

Always liked when Vader would bust out the Vader sault from the top rope every once in a while. Looked great as a visual because he was athletic to hit it.
Same with Undertaker diving over the top rope. Kane countering that and throwing him through the announce table at their first Mania encounter was a great spot in a big man match. Like stated already, as long as it feels natural within the context of the match and the big guy is agile enough I think it definitely has a place. |

The only high flying move that should be done is when Yokozuna did his bonzai drop all the way from the second turnbuckle. What a display of agility and aerial prowess.

I agree for the most part. Especially since if all big men start doing it. I mean Ryback's splash is fine, but he should not be throwing fucking topes. Especially since Cesaro, while not technically a "big man" has been doing some impressive as shit agile moves for his size. Let him have that schtick. Just like BamBam and Vader had the moonsault. If every big guy is doing high flying moves, it diminishes them all.

It appears that tried to jump a stupidly far way from Angle, but he's gone on record of saying he slipped on a wet rope causing him to under rotate. Had he connected with the move I feel like it'd be one of those things that always winds up in WM video packages. |
