Ok some of the comments saying it's fake. But whatever, it's still amazing and doesn't seem that hard to believe that it's legit.

They said there was a stinger after the usual 'animated' credits and no post credits scene.
On the other hand, that's a really good fake with Joss written all over it. |

Whedon could always just say that who saying who created Spiderman is also credits.
Whatever, movie's gonna be out soon, if this is a fake it's a really fuckin' good one. |

That end credit scene has been up for well over 24 hours...if it were remotely legit, they'd have brought that down with a swiftness.

Just got back. Thought it was good, not great. Definitely seems to be a case of having to keep too many plates spinning. I'll write up more with spoiler tags in the morning.

May be being a bit harsh on it due to the high standards that have been set, but it all just fell a bit flat with me.

That's how I felt with The Dark Knight Rises after the success of The Dark Knight.
I'll be seeing Avengers in German, so probably won't understand most of it anyway. |

A lot of people seem to feel the same way you do, that it is good but not as good as the first Avengers. I thought the first one was overrated tbh (outside of Loki and Loki/Hulk scene). I'm curious about this one but I do wish that SPOILER: show and a lot of people have said that SPOILER: show I look forward to seeing it still. |

Just came back from seeing it; I liked it, but I don't think it was as good as the first Avengers film and definitely not as good as Winter Soldier or Guardians. It seemed to have been spread a bit too thin.

With Infinity War already being announced, Civil War in the works and generally the whole Thanos/Infinity Gems thing building up, the overall impression I'm getting is that Avengers was fantastic because it was the payoff to the Phase One build up, whereas this one feels completely like just another movie in the build up to Infinity War.

I'm still pumped! I've enjoyed all MCU films, including Incredible Hulk, so I'm super excited to see this. (Even if it will be in German...)

Saw it Friday, and i'll try and attempt a spoiler-free opinion. I'll also compare AOU to The Avengers.
I remember walking in to The Avengers without any expectations. I'd only watched Iron Man and Iron Man 2 before, and really wasn't clued in to the MCU. The Avengers changed that. Here was a movie that attempted to tie in various properties to create seamless entertainment, and it worked, adding a lot of wit, humour along the way. It felt new and fresh. I hadn't been entertained by a movie like The Avengers in years! Now, fast forward to last Friday. I follow the MCU, well, almost all of it (haven't seen Agent Carter). The characters are all out there, and some of them had fantastic stories along the way (really liked Iron Man 3 and The Winter Soldier). Even though i don't have great expectations from AOU, subconsciously, i hope it's able to deliver the same rush the first film had given me. It doesn't. It's definitely a GOOD movie. It's popcorn entertainment, and gives you moments to cherish. But, it isn't groundbreaking. It isn't fresh. It felt like a chapter, meant to progress a larger story forward. It felt, a tad formulaic. It didn't feel like the epic the first one was. Should it have? Could it have? Yeah, i'd want it to. |

My expectations were through the roof going in and I think they delivered. The opening long-shot action sequence was fantastic, most of the humour was on point, the bait and switch with Hawkeye and Quicksilver ("You didn't see that coming!"), I think they got the balance between dealing with this immediate threat, and setting up the next slate of movies just about right; there should be themes that tie everything together.
Maybe some are feeling a little fatigued by the main characters? GOTG was a hit in part to the unknown quantity/low expectations vibe, Avengers (and its solo films) don't get the benefit of that after 10+ installments. My fiancee gave it 10/10 so no complaints from me. (Though I did sit right to the end only to get an 'Avengers will return' message. Pah!) |

Enjoyed it, not quite as good as the first one but it was a good film nonetheless.
Not really going to say any more than that since I can't be arsed messing around with spoiler tags. |

As for the choices they made with Ultron, I kind of see what they were going for. Ultron has a personality; he's not a robot, he's an individual. More so, he's Tony's creation, the wisecracking probably acts as a reflection of Tony.

Back from seeing it.
I preferred this one to the previous one, because I felt the first Avengers was overrated and struggled to figure out if it was based in TDK real world or Iron Man 'sort of' real world. I didn't mind the Hulk/Black Widow romance surprisingly. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Hawkeye, Vision and Scarlet Witch. Big congrats to Marvel for now having not one but two badass female Avengers. Yes, it spent time setting up future films but superheroes and comics are soap-operatic in nature. Long-form storytelling never bothers me and this an example of that well done. I'm not sure where it ranks in the pantheon of Marvel films but Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are still easily my two favorite MCU films. Anyone feel that Joss Whedon really just didn't give a shit with this one? Like it was good but there was stuff he could've done better with. It's like he just...didn't want to take the time to tell some of the story.

Tripled up on the humor which got annoying. Why didn't Ultron just kill Black Widow? I thought SHIELD was.....Where did that and those people....I dunno....overloaded right now. Good movie.

Definitely low on the totem pole of Phase Two movies, though. |

Real disappointed that they only used the "Avengers Theme" from the first movie in the credits... Loved that theme, and the use of it in the action scenes in the first movie....

Would have been ok with it if they replaced it with another sweet theme/music.... but feel like the music in the film was not up to par....

I loved it. Obviously, the bar was impossibly high after the first, but I feel like this movie did a better job of fleshing out several characters (Hawkeye in particular) than most of the rest of the MCU flicks have. I, too preferred the Days Of Future Past Pietro, but I enjoyed this one a lot too.
And they did a great job with Wanda and Vision. Great intros for those two characters. Also SPOILER: show Marvel continue to knock it out of the park with regards to casting. Every role was perfectly cast, especially Spader. His Ultron was terrifying BECAUSE he was sort of jocular. He'd have been much less intimidating if he was just speechifying the whole time. Him having a bit of "humanity" made his "beliefs" that much more chilling. The mid-credit scene kinda felt like more of the same, but I'm still excited for what it means. I'd put it behind the original, Winter Soldier, and Guardians at least, but it's still in the top tier of the MCU |

WOOHOO!!!!
Okay, first off, I love it! Any criticisms I make aren't so much complaining, because overall I loved this film. It definitely felt like "another chapter" as a lot of people have already stated. Feeling more like a transitional stage into the Phase Three, and in some ways I think it's the same as why I didn't enjoy The Dark Knight Rises as much, because quite simply The Avengers was the big pay-off that we were all waiting for. By now, we've had so many MCU movies, that seeing them all in one movie isn't as exciting. With that said, Infinity War really, really needs to step up BIG TIME in order to compete with anything Marvel have done before. Hawkeye's "speech" to fire up Wanda was great! The "The city is flying, we're fighting robots, and I have a bow and arrow" was really great. Wanda and Quicksilver were done pretty well, and I was gutted about Quicksilver dying. And Vision was amazing! Like, as soon as he was "born" it's like one of those "holy fucking shit" moments. Adding in War Machine (YES!), Falcon briefly, and so many other supporting characters, was just amazing to see all these guys interacting in one movie. I pray to God that Infinity War has everyone in in. Everyone. Honestly don't think there has ever, ever been such a star-stacked movie. Seriously the amount of big names in this franchise, and hell in this movie alone, is surely an unheard of feat. The humour I thought, was spot on, as before. I lot of people criticized the banter between the team. I thought it was great! I loved the repeated knocks on Cap "And by gosh mind your language!"... great stuff. Loved the fight scene at the end. The stakes certainly seemed higher with the idea that this was "another chapter", you kinda felt like something could possibly happen that'll open the doors for future storylines. As with the first movie, the only thing that kinda irks me is that the bulk of the action was still the Avengers taking on an army, and not one individual. I hope they're saving this for Thanos. Having everyone team up and getting their asses kicked by one ultimate enemy, as opposed to fighting his army while the team go up against him one-on-one. Overall I loved it though. The two+ hours flew by. I think I enjoyed the first more, but that's simply because, like I said above, the appeal of seeing all of the heroes team up in one movie has been done now, so it's kinda a completely different mindset when watching this film. Fantastic movie though. Well done Marvel. |

Also, totally agree with Iginfest, that some of the best scenes was simply the team interacting socially. The scene with Thors hammer from the trailer was great. The crack about the "lift being worthy" etc.
