I have been listening to Lamb of God quite a bit, lately. I bought As the Palaces Burn back in 2003, and didn't think much of it. I decided to try them out again last year and bought the most recent record, and enjoyed it. And now this week I bought Ashes of the Wake and have been "rockin' out to it," and I plan on buying Sacrament next week. HMV have their albums on the cheap at the moment.
Whilst I am here, I'm thinking of buying Norma Jean's new record, Wrongdoers, next week also, and I was wondering if other people had checked it out? Furthermore, I haven't previous bought any of their albums and I have read that they are a "christian" metal band, so are they generally bible-bashers, or are they alright in a Sufjan Stevens (non-metal) way? |

norma jean are ok. i have bless the martyr, kiss the child and it has its moments. nothing groundbreaking but worth a listen. the track "the human face, divine" is my favorite off of it. haven't listen to anything by them since, honestly.

Currently binging on Gojira, TesseracT, and Burzum. Also heard the new Rotting Christ. Meat and potatoes music from the band, and that's a good thing.

I've barely listened to anything past O God, Aftermath which was horrendously unoriginal and verged on the ripoffy of other bands at times. I seem to remember it being fairly ok overall though. Bless The Martyr... was pretty good though.

I felt compelled to buy a Chariot album and NJ's Wrongdoers record, just now, which I did.

This is more of a hardcore influenced grind band as opposed to "metal", but whatever.

Anyone listen to In This Moment? Saw them live a few times, have an album or two. They're pretty decent.

Give their first album a shot. It's pretty good. The singer has pipes.

I wonder if the bassist jobs to her on the tour bus, or if the driver gets a boner and drives the bus with it.

I've been listening to Wrongdoers for the past couple of days and I am quite enjoying it; definitely enough to check out more of their material. I hear the previous album is suppose to be rather good.

I got to listen to metal on my own time. I can't legally blare it everywhere, especially my car. I have to make SURE that I have headphones so I won't taint the ears of the ppl around me that listen to christian metal. Fuckin' shit with no toilet paper,

All my metal friends, except for one have moved away or are far from daily visits. I used to be surrounded by motherfuckers who wanted to jam the fuck out for no reason. I keep listening to the same old shit, not giving the new shit a chance.

I can't say I check out any new metal bands. Any that I do already existed when I officially stopped being a "metal head," which was 2003. There are probably some exceptions, though.

I am now listening to The Chariot's One Wing album and I like it alot; actually, at only around 30 mins long, it kind of leaves you wanting more, or atleast, that is what it is doing to me.
I'm definitely going to buy more of their albums, but that will have to wait until the end of the year. My CD-buying habit at the moment is a bit out of control, so I must temper it for now. |

Fuck that. I just bought The Chariot's second album, The Fiancee.
I might need an intervention with my CD-buying antics. |
