Some more Wii U news with good news about the confusion regarding if the system can use more than 1 Wii U controller.
1) Nintendo will not be offering a dual version of the upcoming Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and stressing it will only be on the Wii. The game is still on schedule and will not be delayed because Nintendo wants this to be their major title for the Fall season. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8...d-says-reggie/ 2) No More Heroes 3 confirmed to be in development and is expected to be an exclusive for the system with the controller playing a huge role in the game. Also revealed is the possibility of introducing another main character for the series to go along with Travis Touchdown. http://screwattack.com/blogs/ScrewAt...g-to-The-Wii-U 3) Reggie Fils-Aime reveals the Wii U can support more than one Wii U controller at a time and agrees that the confusion about the situation was due to Miyamoto suggesting the system only uses 1 controller because of the demos and stuff shown on stage at E3. http://screwattack.com/blogs/ScrewAt...l-capabilities |

Perhaps. Depends on how that feature will be received on WiiU.
Funny thing is, many of the concepts of the WiiU can be emulated by PS3/PSV connectivity (and with no controversy on how many can be used at once). The PSV has all the standard buttons of a core controller (minus two shoulder buttons), and a nice screen. I imagine Sony will push to intercept some of what Nintendo is going for. A touchscreen is besides the point when PSV can essentially be a PS3 controller as well. Microsoft is at a point where I can't imagine what stupidity they'll push next. Since Avatars, they've been doing this strange random shit trying to capture the spirit of Nintendo's blue ocean strategy - and they came of looking like douches. |

God I hope not. I'll be getting this in spite of the "functionality" because there's one thing this will have that Sony's machine won't: HD Nintendo games.

They always have an excuse. How's this: Why not just say "we don't want to include this function?"
After them trying to tel us nobody really wanted online or HD, this is a pretty small one, but come on. You didn't include it because you didn't want to pay the money period, not because of the prevalence of the units. Which I don't even buy for BD, but still. |

Kinda funny not to add DVD/Blu ray playback considering Nintendo made a huge deal over the fact that they want people to have the console on at all times, blah blah blah, etc.

The Australian EB Games website has a page up for Nintendo's Wii U. There's even a pre-order page with an estimated RRP price of $598, which would be over $600 USD. There's no other release information other than a 2012 date.
Another page at the retailer's site has several games listed. It's generic franchise names and logos, just as they were presented in Nintendo's E3 press conference. Want to reserve a few games along with your $600 Wii U? That will be $108 AUD a piece, please. Too soon, EB Games. Too soon. http://www.destructoid.com/eb-games-...d-203988.phtml I know it's not the real price, but I will be passing on it if it turns out true. |

I bet the rep is right and the only issue may be the actual controller.

The guy complaining about Zelda being the same game every time. I'm willing to bet he most likely has multiple CoD and Halo games.
The only thing that's the same in each Zelda is the core story and mechanics. That's what makes it Zelda. The same way each Fable is the same core story and mechanics each time which makes it Fable. The same way any series with more than 2 entries is the same core story and mechanics each time. That's what makes a series what it is. To change the core mechanics and story is to turn it into a whole other series. |

That is a complaint I never quite understood. People tend to not know what the fuck they're asking for, because when Nintendo gets jiggy enough to make some revamped Zelda - watch these same dudes be the first to start those stupid online petitions asking for Link to be mute or whatever counters a change.

People complain just to complain.
Take Duke Nukem Forever as an example. People complained about it including stuff from modern FPS games. Then they complained about it being outdated. So they don't like that it takes on new things yet they don't like that it plays like an outdated game. They don't want the old style yet they don't want it modernised. |

Not really, it can be both. The best combination for me would be a modern engine and a fuck load of weapons and non-regenerating health. Duke Nukem just took the worst parts of 2 generations of FPS. It's a legitimate complaint

Not really. It's one of those things people do. They'll bitch about something because it's a certain game but be ok with it in another game.
For example, when Capcom announced Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, everyone was bitching about how it better be a free update and it would be typical greedy Capcom if they expected us to actually pay for such a small update (This "small update" being 4 new characters among other things.). Yet, when the next FIFA or Madden or SvR comes out with their miniscule changes, no one bats an eyelid and forks out full price from them year after year after year. |

Are you actually talking about the same people though? Everytime I see a generalization where it's "They do this, and then they do this", it's usually two different people completely but the connection is made because they're "gamers" or "movie goers" or the IWC.
OK, the last one might fit. |

I wouldn't say it was butthurt. I just don't see why the guy raged over Zelda being "the same game every time" when every other game with multiple enteries is "the same game every time". Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Street Fighter, you name it.
Anytime something is changed in a series, people get pissed about it or the game flops. |

Valve hints it could be making games for the Wii U after the company's co-founder in an interview stated the new system fits well with the current Valve development model.

Wii U will only support 1 tablet controller at launch but Nintendo is currently working on a patch to make multiple tablets possible but it won't be ready until way after launch.
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-after-launch/ Nintendo is also working on a patch or ways to minimize calibration issues that could pop up from certain Wii U games at launch but only a few games (no ports) seem to be likely to be affected. http://kotaku.com/5918070/nintendo-h...ration-problem Iwata also recently confirmed the Wii U will allow developers pretty much a free reign on what they want to do with DLC while also promising to allow free-to-play games to be possible on the system similar to the PC and PS3 to help bring more games to the console. http://www.screwattack.com/news/wii-...sactions-space Last edited by Emperor Smeat; 06-14-2012 at 06:28 PM. |

I don't care, may not even use the tablet controller.
I want Zelda U, Mario Kart U, Smash Bros. U, and F-Zero U. I won't care for multiplatform games since 360 will always get my vote there. Give me the Nintendo franchises. |

President of Nintendo, Iwata, stress that the company is still working on finding a reasonable price for the Wii U with them really taking the lessons they learned from the 3DS launch as a way to prevent the same from happening with the Wii U.
Most places are placing the potential price around $300 to $350 and Nintendo themselves are still waiting for an approval by the FCC to officially sell the console and get a release date announced. http://www.destructoid.com/nintendo-...e-230163.phtml EGM had a hands-on preview with ZombiU and basically confirm most of the news from E3 about the game while also going into a bit of detail regarding what happens when your character dies. Also they confirmed the "complex" control scheme was done on purpose to help enhance the horror aspect of the game and not make it just a run-and-gun FPS type of game. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/previ...review-zombiu/ |

Nintendo won't be joining Microsoft and charging for the majority of features on the new Nintendo Network with at least the Miiverse and other social features confirmed to be free. There is some conflicting reports saying its possible the online multiplayer will be charged will others are stating it won't.
They also are currently hiring and consulting a lot of people with experience in network making and running to help finalize the new Network such as the recent hiring of former VP of Disney's interactive media branch as the new boss of the Nintendo Network. http://www.destructoid.com/nintendo-...p-230383.phtml http://andriasang.com/con1pi/nintend...older_meeting/ Last edited by Emperor Smeat; 06-29-2012 at 06:09 PM. Doubtful. Coming of E3 the Wii U has been in the news recently. In the future when there is no big news on the Wii U, an easy way to get it back into the news is releasing the price.

Except low price is a rather important selling point, especially after the 3DS debacle.
