Oh cool. I can't wait for all the reports to come out on what he did.
And then for him to be "re-signed" a week or two later. |

Could never get into him.
He was by no means bad, either in the ring or on the mic, but he didn't stand out to me either. He was just there. |

Damn, that sucks.
Was just thinking on Monday after his match with Ambrose how much I love watching the guy's matches... and made a little wish that they would do something to "fix" him and make him a big player again... |

This is a little shocking, but I do not even care. He always seemed to take up a spot that another, more interesting member of the roster could have occupied and succeeded at. He was a great worker, but really bland and vanilla, which was probably a big fault of the writers and not really his own.

He was a victim of WWE booking not knowing how to keep more than 2 guys interesting at the same time. He had the rasslin' skill, the look, the charisma... With some writers who could consistently book him in something compelling he could have been a big deal.

Iv'e heard about many wrestlers having altercations in the back.
I wonder if maybe it was one of the divas? |

I'm thinking maybe Kevin Dunn. Because the wrestlers and the divas aren't employees.

Well, I wasn't expecting this, but then again, who was?
As Smelly Meatball pointed out, it must have been something pretty serious, as he didn't get wished the best in his future endeavours, like the WWE usually does when they release someone. From what I've read, Del Rio is a bit of a dick in real life/has a short fuse, so I'm guessing he must have gotten into a fight/argument with someone who is pretty important in the company, and this is his punishment. |

Big Del Rio fan. Never saw a bad match from him. Though I wish he would have gone back to flaunting his wealth and piss, I always enjoyed seeing him. Never tuned him out like I do with Adam Rose or Bo Dallas. |

He showed the ability to be an awesome cocky face in his feud with Big Show. He played off a comedic love/hate relationship with Ricardo perfectly as a face. After that it was all downhill though.

The fact that Del Rio is technically a four-time world champion and a Royal Rumble winner, yet has "been there" for the last year pretty much demonstrates WWE's knack of having too many big names doing nothing.

We noted before that WWE did not use Alberto Del Rio's real name when announcing his release from the company this evening. It's also interesting that they did not wish him the best in his future endeavors.
For what it's worth, Rob Feinstein of RF Video wrote on his Facebook that Del Rio was involved in a backstage incident at the recent WWE TV tapings. RF claimed that Del Rio had words with an employee who works for WWE's social media department and allegedly slapped him. This should be taken as strictly rumor for now. We've noted how Del Rio has expressed interest in leaving WWE and returning to Mexico once his deal expired this year. |

Anywho, I'm not sad, but I am quite shocked at this. Del Rio wasn't shit... he was just not at a main event level. If they would have had him go after the IC/US strap, I could get behind that. For now, we shall call him by his proper Lucha name. Destello en la Cazuela |

Honestly. He bored me. Curious to see what happened to cause his firing.
The one memory I actually enjoyed of him was life. Christmas Eve episode where he ran over Santa Claus with his car starting one of the funniest chants I've ever heard "You killed Santa.... You killed Santa" LOL then he proceeded to have a street fight with Cena that was a lot more entertaining then I expected. This was the kick off to his face turn which may have lead to his downfall from relevancy. |

Since there is no one for Sheamus to wrestle 800 times on television now, might as well get rid of him too.

I think we can safely say now that WWE's butchering of ADR is completely and his initial push didn't mean anything... Santino should have won that Rumble, dammit.
