Whether the guy had I coming or not, no reason for Del Rio to smack him just for talking back to him. Firing him for unprofessional conduct seems justified to me.
Also, lol a those tweets, obviously hit a raw nerve with some people. |

Can't see how any of y'all can say that Del Rio deserved to get fired over this. If the rumors are true, and that's a big if, then the prick had it coming. This bullshit about being allowed to say whatever you want without consequences is moronic. You can't talk shit about an over 6 foot tall and 250 pound man and not expect him to beat your ass.

The smack wasn't for talking back to him, I'm sure. I imagine the smack was for what was actually said...

But if Del Rio smacking the guy was the result of the guy being smug about a racial comment he made, Del Rio is still in the wrong, but its a bit more justifiable than just "Alberto got mad and smacked the social media guy." |

Don't be a bully be a star! Del Rio stands up for himself and gets fired. Don't be a star at all I guess.
If what happened the way the reports say it is then it's bullshit. The guy deserved to get his ass kicked and lucky he just got slapped. Racist comment. Making it seem Del Rio is Consuela. He probably wanted to ask Del Rio if they were out of lemon pledge. Did Del Rio deserve to be fired? |

And he's gotta almost stop his smug smile because he needs to use so many face muscles on winking.
Who has to put that much effort into a wink? What the h? |

Loved Del Rio in the ring. His character has been doing pretty much nothing for a long time, but he was still absolute gold in the ring. The dude always carried himself with the confidence of a guy who could legitimately kick your ass (because he probably could).
When he turned face, it seemed really random, but Del Rio was a natural face in the ring. His (probably legit) self-confidence lent itself to a top babyface, but he was put in an awkward storyline and forced to basically make jokes as racist comments were flung in his direction. Not too much aesthetically changed about Del Rio during this time either -- his color scheme changed from golds to the Mexican flag colors and his music got a little faster. What would have happened if they had given Del Rio a cool new theme and changed his ring attire up? What if Del Rio had "seen the light" and given away his riches to charity and went forward as a guy who wants to re-earn everything he has? When I think of the feuds Del Rio was in over the years, what he really had were pure rivalries. He'd either have a title or want one, and the other guy would either want it or have it. Del Rio never really had anything going on beyond "he's a really good wrestler and sorta mean." |

I think it was a Jeff Jarrett GFW promotion has announced that it intents to have working agreements with New Japan and AAA. If that is the case, then Alberto could head to AAA, work for GFW and even make some appearances with New Japan. AAA is looking to get started up on the El Rey Network, or whatever it is, and Alberto could probably be one of their biggest stars heading forward. I think Mistico is meant to be working with the promotion too.

I LOVED when he first showed up in the nice cars, had a ring announcer, and was just an asshole jerk. It fit him really well. Then it seems like the minute people start to cheer for a bad guy, they IMMEDIATELY turn them, instead of building it like The Rock, SCSA, etc...really gets under my skin for some reason Hasto Luego Mr. Del Rio |

I enjoyed watching him when he was on but if he'd just stopped appearing and nobody mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed, forgot about Mysterio 'til I saw him mentioned here.

But really, I miss the days when the WWE had a pair.
Apparently though, in the eyes of the WWE, slapping a racist is more unprofessional than being a racist/racist to your co-workers. It confuses me why Del Rio lost his job and not Barbierri. If I ran a company and an employee was racist to another employee, and the latter slapped the racist for it, I'd fire the racist and suspend the other. Even if Barbierri did sue the WWE, he wouldn't really have a case, if it was brought up that what caused it all was his blatant racism, right? |

Wasn't ADR looking to leave anyway? I understand him being pissed at being fired, but if he wanted out anyway...
Probably part of the reason why he was let go. |
