I'm sure I read that the flash forward was to present day, so 2007. Depends when they got off the island I guess.

They crashed on September 22nd 2004 and have been there for 3 months or so. If Kate is pregnant now and the flashforward is based in 2007 that leaves a gap of about 2 and a half years. Plenty of time for a baby to have been born and to be aware of it's surrundings (i.e. to miss it's mother).

I'm not completely convinced she was talking bout a son though.
