Best Video Game Music Of The Last Five Years
Usually, favourite music threads contain nothing but MegaMan, and other "classic" stuff.
Let's keep it recent, lads. Quote:

The theme used during the intro scene is pretty amazing as well and maybe the best intro scene this generation. |

Amazing ending. Riding into Mexico for the first time and having So Far Away play in the background. Also the grave scene,

As soon as I noticed this thread, I thought of Mirror's Edge.
The music in the game is absolutely fantastic. It's just so different to your usual video game music, that usually consist of electric guitars and drums and full-blown orchestras. Ambient music and the rest that fall under the Ambient genre, are very rarely used in video games, and I think the music in Mirror's Edge worked well with all aspects of the game. There's more from the OST via the link. http://www.youtube.com/user/xRussian...10053034B864C8 |

I think Braid and Super Meat Boy are the most iconic for me in the past five years. I have recently been constantly playing the Bastion and Frozen Synapse soundtracks while I'm running.

Super Meat Boy has an amazing soundtrack. One of my favorite parts about the game was the epic music.

Some of my most favorite video game music came from this game. Was released in late 2005, but I suppose it can be listed if you take the re-release into account. So relaxing. I like to listen to the Mass Effect soundtrack when I'm at work. Brilliant game with a very eclectic soundtrack - but this one stood out most to me. Has a nice, hyper groove to it with a gothic tinge to it....Kinda like a Castlevania-rave feel. Anyway, it compliments the gameplay perfectly. |

The older POP games may have better sountracks but they can't qualify as they are all outdated but this one wasn't too shabby in it's own right it has more of an epic cinematic feel to it.
