I'm not quite sure about that one. Jacob obviously has the power to reveal himself to anyone he wants, and when Hurley told Ben he had seen the cabin, Ben was pretty shocked. Right now, to me, what it explains is why Jacob uses Jack's relatives as his avatars on or off the island.

I really wish it made the "WHOOOOOOOSH" sound when I remembered some important memory.
I might even stick around for Life on Mars after Lost. WHO KNOWS? |

Amazing ep. I love Richard Alpert. Also, young Widmore was a nice surprise that I didn't see coming.

So who is Sawyer's constant?

Why would Sawyer need a constant?
Pretty sure the details of the constant had to do with how they entered the island. |

Really? I thought it just had to do with traveling through time.
If it's how they entered the island then shouldn't the same thing happen to Lapidus and Sayid since they were in the helicopter with Desmond? |

Not sure, but it seems like we're dealing with two different types of time travel here. In the initial case it was only Desmond's mind that traveled from his body from the different points in 2004 and 1996. In the second case there seems to be actual physical time travel involved, as none of the people were actually on the island in 1954 and so on.
With regards to Supreme, I am guessing the reason Desmond is the only one who experienced the "side effects" on the island is because he was already prone to them, and so when they went off course a bit it triggered his mind to unstick in time. In the case of the survivors, seeing the light when Ben turned the wheel may have been all that was necessary for their type of time travel. |

so then wouldnt all the people in the time warp be prone to the same problems and not just Faraday's crew

Could Desmond and Penny be Charlies mom and dad?

Great episode. Love Richard. I hope he's not a bad guy. Everything is looping. Its like it all happend before. Locke told Richard to go meet him when he's born. So thats why Richard is there when Locke is born and thats why Richard asked Locke to choose between all those items he laid on the table. Because Lock came to him in 1954 and told him that he'd be his leader.
I'm willing to bet Desmond and Penny didnt just name there kid after Charlie. Unless Charlies brother was the older brother? I thought Charlie was the older brother. I dunno total mind fuck and i love it. |

What happened to Desmond didn't happen to Frank or Sayid because Desmond had been exposed to severe Electromagnetic energy with the hatch blowing up. The first thing Daniel asks is if he has been exposed to that stuff.
I see what you mean with the constant thing...but they need to actually talk. Miles might be able to get by with Ghosts, and Daniel has already met up with Desmond, so that could mean why Danielle is sick. |

However, I think the name was just a tribute to Charlie. (funny coincidence between Charlie and Charles: same name, yet one keeps them apart and one got them together) |

This was my first thought when they said his name was Charlie, but Charlies dads name is Simon Pace and his mother Megan Pace. I know that doesn't mean much at all in Lost but I think the Charlie thing was more of a homage than anything else.
I also love how important Faraday is becoming, he's fast becoming a favourite of mine. Young Widmore was a shock to me and it was great, although I wasn't too keen on the guys acting. |

Anyone else notice that Faraday talks like Jim (from The Office) does when he's keeping his voice down?
Also, Faraday and Richard are awesome. Hope Richard especially has a lot to do with this season. |

Not seen a lot mentioned as to how Faraday could appear on the island back in the 70s looking no younger than he does today.
Are we to assume that the scene took place after one of the flashes had landed him there or has he been time travelling before? |

Also when Ellie said to him "You just couldn't stay away, could you?" he seemed really confused. Then again that could just be his forgetful nature (i.e. not knowing why he was crying at the news report of the crash) |

Also I would put money on what wwe2222 said being true about Ellie = Ms Hawking = Faradays mother. Especially seeing as Hawkings first name was revealed to be Eloise (also the name of Faradays rat) by the writers.

Who the hell is Ms. Hawking and where have we seen her before? Is she that lady who was with Ben and the big swinging pendulum telling him they were all doomed and stuff?

Yeah. She is in Flashes Before Your Eyes working in the jewelery shop and then telling Desmond about the nature of the universe.

I think it became more apparent as the episode went on. The army had been there, the Others had killed them yet they still sent more people. I'd bank on the Ellie = Eloise Hawking = Faraday's mother link though. |

Also, I'm having trouble trying to get my friend to understand how Locke can be alive on the island and dead in LA.
I've tried explaining that we are essentially seeing two different times. The island stuff is anchored in 2004/5 (a few months after the plane crashed) even though the characters are skipping back and forth through time. Where as the stuff in LA is happening in "present day" (3 years on from the island). Therefore, somewhere in the 3 years Locke will leave for LA where he will end up dead one way or another - which I imagine we will see before this season is done. Any advice on how to explain this concept in even simpler terms? (PS Please bear in mind that I took it down the level where I said "It's like this...I am sat in the pub with you here tonight, 3 years ago I would have been away at Uni. There's no confusion as to how I'm in "two places at once" cos they're two different times.") |

The stuff on the island is three years ago from the perspective of the stuff happening off the island. This has been stated.

That's what I've told him (as suggested in my post). I don't get how he doesn't get it, he's an intelligent guy.
