through vignettes, the "opportunity" storyline, a random run-in, being introduced by a superstar, as a plant and as a local guy who nearly beats the superstar.

As for bringing back the CW Title...it's not gonna work. If WWE can't get the US/IC Title over as something worth winning they are not gonna be able to do it with a lightweight title. The likes of Bourne should be contending for the US Title - and may well be given that Daniel Bryan is now holding the belt. Besides, who would make up the division? Bourne, Gabriel. You'd have to relegate Kofi, Christian, Cody, Rey, etc to even start with a Cruiserweight Division. In short: Awful idea. |

I wish Colin Delaney didn't already have a WWE run. Would be hilarious to see him on NXT getting his ass kicked every week with all his promos being how he hopes to stop getting beat up.

This could be good if SmackDown! got some big name talent or something. But I hope they don't change the philosophy behind the show. I like SmackDown! featuring actual wrestling.

NO big name talent. No Cena on Fridays dominating everyone. Leave Smackdown the way it is.

Thinking of going on a massive shopping spree tonight for wrestling related books or other memorabilia. Really tempted by that "Miz MITB" collector's item if still available. Anyone bought it? If so, did you guys receive it already?

I don't see why not. Especially if they want to build to Cena vs. Orton at WrestleMania. Cena, John Morrison, Justin Gabriel, Evan Bourne, Goldust, William Regal, Gail Kim and Primo are the names I would move from RAW to SmackDown!.

Damien Rey has been spot-on in here, and XL most recently, too. My problem with the CW Division was always this -- being Cruiserweight Champion should mean you are the best cruiserweight in the world, yes? Yet, at one point, you had Rey Mysterio as World Heavyweight Champion and Gregory Helms as Cruiserweight Champion. Who is top dog then? Instead of letting these guys feud over it, they just had Rey beat Helms in a random non-title match, and that was it.
The WWE are always going to have some smaller workers who are beyond being seen as "cruiserweights." Depending on where you set the weight limit, Chris Jericho, Christian, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler could all be considered "cruiserweights." Do they get snapped up into the division? Why? Why not? A perfectly booked Cruiserweight Championship in the WWE could be fun, at best. It's much more likely it will keep certain stars down, rather than help them up, though. If there is no connection between a guy like CM Punk and the Cruiserweight Title -- what good does it do a guy 222lbs to hold the belt? I wouldn't mind some sort of "Cruiserweight Cup" being held every year, in which every guy 230lbs or under gets to compete in a tournament, of sorts, and the winner receives a trophy. |

If they built the Intercontinental Championship and/or U.S. titles back up instead of putting it on young guys who can't get over or letting it sit on guys for months on end while they pursue other angles you don't need the Cruiserweight Belt.
There was a time where the Intercontinental Championship was almost as coveted as the Heavyweight belt. Shawn, Bret, Perfect, Diesel, Razor, Rock, Jericho, HHH.... all held that belt. They could build on that, restore it's glory and give that to the little guys who aren't plausible main eventers due to size/politics, but are still talented and entertaining. |

I think Daniel Bryan could be the guy who does that with the US Title. The WWE has a hard-on for him, this much is certain. He was victorious in the main event of WrestleMania, got a win over The Miz (which is harder to get these days than you'd think), and beat Edge most recently on RAW (albeit with the decision reversed). I think Bryan will get a decent reign with the US Title, as I can't really see anyone who could take it off him right now. Maybe Morrison, if they decided to turn him heel. A member of Nexus, if they disband, maybe. But I think Bryan could be a fighting champion who gets to go over even higher level guys -- which would be tremendous for the belt.
Dolph Ziggler is being given a bit of a Honky Tonk reign on SmackDown! -- but when it comes down to it, he can beat guys cleanly. We've seen him topple The Great Khali, Kane and R-Truth with his Sleeper Hold. The IC Title is always booked with a little bit more integrity under Michael Hayes than it is used to, though. |
