Denver lost 4 in 13 years..close enough
Minnesota gets the cake for me though, 4 losses in 8 years and they never led at any point in any of the 4 games. |

Lol 4 in 13 years is not "close enough" to 4 in a row.

I was actually just proving a point that his judging QBs by how much they improve their team and then claiming "but Peyton's team was already good" by telling me their record WITH PEYTON at the helm was bias because I knew he wouldn't agree when I applied it to Brady.
I do think Peyton would have lead them to the playoffs that year though. He's done it with practically no defense or running game time and time again. He's proven he doesn't really need either to at least get to the playoffs. |

Dude, they were an awful team. Soooo many injuries on both sides of the ball, plus a lame duck coach. The Colts would have struggled to get to 6 wins with Peyton.

Edgarin James was a lock for 1,000 yard every year. Dwight Freeney could be counted on to be a top sack artist during the Colts run. Robert Mathis i think, was the other d end that was a pro bowler year in and yesr out. Mannings defense was not top 5, but they werent ranked in the bottom half. The fact that you moan and groan that 'peyton never had a running game/defense' speaks to your general ignorance of the game.

If you put peyton in New England, they would not have 3 super bowl titles. If you put brady in indy, they would.

Brady won 2 Super Bowls with Antowain Smith as their starting Running Back, and one year I'm pretty sure he didn't break 700 yards lol.

I agree with you though the LB's are pretty good, but the secondary has been garbage for years save like the last 3 or 4 games before last night. It's like Chris Harris and then some bodies back there. The pass rush needs to be addressed, they managed to do ok this season but it is far from a championship caliber defense. Plus it would be nice if they ever covered the middle of the field. Check the Dallas and first NE games. The TE is practically wide open every time. Romo and Whitten looked like Aikman and Novacek in that game and that comes down to coaching, which lets just say I've never been a big John Fox fan. The biggest need on that team on offense is a running game. I grew up watching the Joe Gibbs Redskins with the Hogs so to me that's what a football team should look like and that's what Seattle did last night and what the Giants did to beat the pass happy Patriots. Denver seems to run the same draw play every time they attempt to run the ball and they don't have anyone capable of doing anything more than 2 or 3 yards a gain when they play a solid defense. And that starts at the line too. They are great at pass blocking, but they are not that good as run blockers. They are so one dimensional as an offense it's sad. No team has a chance to win when they put that much pressure on one player to win no matter how good he is. Think about the Pats when did they won, when they had guys to help Brady. He didn't have to do it all. They might not have been stars, but they were solid contributors. The year the Colts won, they ran the ball 40 times and passed 38. Last night 14 carries to 49 passes. Seattle 29 carries to 26 passes. Like someone said they need someone that can get separation from the DB's. Welker and Decker and great slot receivers, but Wes is starting to get up there in age and D Thomas, aside from trying to turn a simple needed 7 yards into 40 and getting only 4 because of that, could be that guy but he will need some help because he's the only one able to do that. |

Peyton was overpaid in Indy making it impossible to make moves to have a great team around him.

3 Pats wins: XXXVI - 27 passes - 18 runs Rams - 44 passes - 17 runs XXXVIII - 48 passes - 32 runs Panthers - 33 passes - 16 runs XXXIX - 33 passes - 26 runs Eagles - 51 passes - 15 runs 2 Pats losses: XLII - 48 passes - 15 runs Giants - 34 passes - 23 runs XLVI - 41 passes - 10 runs Giants - 40 passes - 26 runs I know panicing in the end and trying to play catchup skews these stats some, but still some of these numbers are outrageous. I love Donovan, but a 51/15 ratio is ridiculous. |

Outside of me kicking Peyton while he's down, I found that game quite enjoyable. I love to see good, physical defense. No frills, press coverage, and aggressive pass rushing/run stopping. The Tackle that #41 made on Decker( i think) where he split a double team and just drove that dude into the dirt...Fucking put me over the top. Wish Browner wasn't suspended, he would have decapitated somebody.

I love that too, shame it's so hard to find anymore. Even bigger shame my team was on the other side of it.
Last night to me was a perfect example of what style the NFL wants to win versus the style that always has won. The style that made football so great until they regulate it away. |

I also miss the fullback position which is another position Denver refuses to utilize. My high school didn't have a football team until long after I had graduated, but that and linebacker were always the positions I wanted to play.

You really should stop trying. You have a penchant for either flat out lying or not doing your research and then backtracking so I'll expect more of the same here. It's "The Bengals have the 2nd seed if they win this game!" and "Andy Dalton has as many playoff wins as Tony Romo" all over again. lol |

Seriously, I can deal with differing opinions. Flat out lying to try to make a point and then backtracking or just stating demonstrably wrong shit as fact is where you go from ridiculous to fucking retarded. lol

They weren't that much worse the year before when Donald Brown led the team with less than 500 yards rushing and the defense ranked just 5 spots higher (which is actually a small drop off considering how much they had to be on the field with the Curtis Painter run offense going 3 and out constantly). And Peyton still lead them to a playoff berth.

*sigh* The Morning After..........BY MAUREEN MCGOVERN. TAKE IT AWAY!
I'm at a loss for words. I spared myself the agony and turned it off at halftime. Which apparently was a smart move on my part. The first snap pretty much set the tone for the entire game. We couldn't recover from that. Hell, I don't think I heard Peyton call out "Omaha" during the entire game. Which makes me wonder if they threw out the entire playbook just for this game. Or if it was so loud, Seattle's 12th Man couldn't let us hear it on our TV sets. Betcha if Denver played the game like it was a regular season game, the outcome could have been better. Hats off to Seattle, far and away the better team. Just wish Champ Bailey could have gotten his deserved Super Bowl ring. As far as the offseason goes, keep all the offensive players around. But the defense needs a complete overhaul. Probably start with letting Jack Del Rio go. Our secondary sucks, and once the offense gets a sizeable lead, the defense gets sloppy and gives back all the points. (See Patriots game). I don't know who's out there for free agents, but we need a pretty good draft to get all the way back to the Super Bowl. I think Peyton & Co. pull it off again. |

Blowout or not, really enjoyed last night's game. Seattle's defense was amazing and vicious while Denver's at least kept the game close for half of it.

Manning 'sQB rating was the lowest in a Super Bowl since Rex Grossman, which is probably why he at least has 1 Super Bowl ring.

I don't think Arizona is really anything to worry about though. They've got some good players but Carson Palmer is the type of QB who is gonna do well enough to keep his starting job but not really make them a legit threat.
