Like Imagine where LA would have been without Kemp? EVEN WORSE. He counted for more wins for his shitty team than Braun did for his winning team, and he even had another superstar hitter on his team.

VALUE doesnt equal winning. If you are the best player on a team, and make them better, that makes you valuable. Not putting up stats on a good team.

Kemp should have won but Braun winning isn't that bad although I could see if the writers felt Braun had more value to the Brewers than Kemp to the Dodgers and maybe the idea of Kemp being similar to when A-Rod won in 2003 (I think).

The Brewers themselves shifted their entire focus onto Braun for the year while Kemp might have gotten the stigma of his stats not really benefiting the Dodgers even though they were horrible except him for most of the season.

Then again the writers always have some weird thinking that a lot of the times barely makes any sense considering their past votes or thinking (ex. a DH can never be an MVP while a guy who pads his stats on a horrible team is MVP-worthy).

The only way a guy on a team that misses the playoffs should win MVP is if his numbers are ridiculously better than everybody else's. Braun's numbers are a lot closer to Kemp's than some of you seem to think.

How bout the fact that Matt Kemp never had to hit in a meaningful situation this year while Ryan Braun had the pressures of a division race on his shoulders every single night? That doesn't matter to any of you?

YES.

Because the award is Most VALUABLE Player, not "Player of the Year" or "Most Outstanding Player".

LOL this is from a Wikipedia page about Kobe's Sexual Assault Case:

It was revealed that Bryant leaned the woman over a chair to have sex with her, which allegedly caused the bleeding. This was the sex act in question, as the accuser claims she told Bryant to stop but he would not, and Bryant claims he stopped after asking if he could ejaculate on her face.

Kobe: "Excuse me, ma'am...I'm raping you and stuff, but would it make you mad if I ejaculate on your face?"

Ha!

Matt Kemp said this after not winning the MVP award:

"I'm going to go 50-50 next year," he said. "I'm telling you, y'all created a monster. I'm about to get back in the weight room super tough so I can be as strong as I was last year. … Forty-forty is tough, so 50-50 will be even tougher, but anything can happen. I have to set my limits high so I can try to get to them as much as I can. I'm going to try for 50-50, which has never been done.

"I'm serious. If I don't [get there], it means I let y'all down and lied to you, and I don't like being a liar. I know y'all are over there thinking I'm crazy, but hey, I'm trying to take it to another level."

He'll end up breaking/tearing something in his super tough training and miss the entire season..then he can do 40-40 again and win Comeback player and MVP in 2013

Kemp should have won the MVP..without him the Dodgers would have been 100x worse than they were.

Orioles are supposedly interested in Huston Street to be their new closer, which I guess is an improvement over Kevin Gregg, but I can only imagine the new nickname... Huston "serves one up to Eutaw" Street.

Im fine with Braun, his numbers were legit. I just dont agree that the Term MOST VALUABLE has to coincide with making the playoffs. Everyone wants to tout the NOT BEST PLAYER BUT MOST VALUABLE argument but VALUE is completely arbitrary.

If you want to play it that way, it goes to the player that is the biggest part of his team. And Kemp accounted for a much higher percentage of his teams offense and defense than did Braun.

Kemp's Value was MUCH more to the Dodgers than Brauns to the Brewers. So basically, long story short, Aquakate can suck on mah balls.

I guess you didn't see how Braun's clutch hits and Homers basically carried the Brewers all the way to the playoffs down the stretch.

Maybe if you weren't so focused on "Bringing Trannies Back", you would've noticed.

Evening round-up.

Grady Sizemore goes back to the Indians. 1-year, $5 mil. with $4 mil. in incentives to be earned.

Bruce Chen stays with the Royals. 2-years, $9 mil. with an extra $2 mil. split between the roster bonus and incentives.

The Yokohama Bay Stars out of Japan are going to post reilver Hiroki Sanada. This will be the first time the team has used the posting system.

And finally, there's a little under 3 hours until teams gotta offer their players arbitration.

Mets sign outfielder/former pitcher Adam Loewen to a minor league deal, presumably with a ST invite.

Oddly intrigued by that move. His September call up with the Blue Jays pretty much sucked, but he had a damn good year in AAA considering it was only his third as a position player. Ankiel took way longer to be big league ready.

Decent depth move, but he definitely is a candidate for a backup outfielder spot on the Opening Day roster. I've heard that he's got a cannon for an arm much like Ankiel. Could be good for late inning defense.

Red Sox offered arbitration to David Ortiz and Dan Wheeler but declined on r Jason Varitek, Erik Bedard, Trever Miller, Tim Wakefield, J.D. Drew, and Conor Jackson.

Phillies declined arbitration to Roy Oswalt but offered it to Jimmy Rollins, Raul Ibanez, and Ryan Madson.

Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder, Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, CJ Wilson, and Francisco Rodriguez all were offered arbitration.

According to MLB, the Padres get to offer arbitration to Heath Bell and are guaranteed 2 draft picks but his potential new team won't lose any as part of the compromise regarding the new CBA for this year.

Cubs offered arbitration to Carlos Pena and Aramis Ramirez.

We wanted him, but there's such a log jam in the outfield here in Toronto. Loewan is interesting. He put up good numbers in AAA, but he played in Vegas where EVERYBODY hits. To me, Loewan is an AAAA player.

Jays offered to Kelly Johnson, Jon Rauch(ugh), Jose Molina and Frank Francisco and declined Shawn Camp.

Hoping to see Francisco and Johnson back. The rest can fuck off with Camp.

Unless something out of the blue happens, Bobby Valentine or Tigers 3rd base coach Gene Lamont will be Boston's new manager.

It'll be Bobby.

Also, they're showing the 2003 Marlins vs Cubs NLCS "Steve Bartman" game, and all I've gotta say, after 8 years, is:

MOISES ALOU WOULD'VE CAUGHT THAT BALL.

How? By telling you your argument is invalid when you look at the greater scope?

If it was up to you, the guy who had the most Homers and RBIs would win the MVP, even if he played on the Royals or something.

In 1998, Mark McGwire hit 70 Home Runs, and the Cardinals missed the playoffs.

Sammy Sosa hit 66 and the Cubs won the Wild Card.

Guess who won MVP?

Hanso: "McGwire! Because he hit 70 Home Runs!"

Aguakate: "No. Sosa. Because he was more valuable to his team, by contribuiting to their playoff birth".

All that you've proven is that the MVP award was flawed in 98.

McGwire was the better player and should have won it that year too.

Nah.

Sosa was the man. He took a Cubs team that had Mickey Morandini as its 2nd baseman to the playoffs.

Ofcourse, Braun had the luxury of being protected by Prince Fielder in the lineup. Kemp had no one.

Who did Sosa have?

HENRY FUCKING RODRIGUEZ?!

Still, just the clutch hits and timely hitting down the stretch gave Braun the MVP.

Go back through my posts fuck wit. I dont say a thing about better stats. I know reading comprehension is not your strength, but at least try to stay up to date on the conversation.

You keep pushing the "ITS NOT ABOUT STATS ITS ABOUT BEING VALUABLE" bullshit.

I have not once mentioned stats you fucking mongoloid, the point is that if you play that card, Kemp was FAR more valuable as the ONLY offensive weapon on that team, where Braun had good numbers, on a good team, and made the playoffs. That doesnt make him more valuable. You take Braun off that team and make him a middling Left Fielder they still win 80 games. You take Kemp off that team and they struggle to come CLOSE to the shitty record they have.

If you want to play the value card, imagine a team without that player. The Brewers would still have been better than Average, but without Kemp the Dodgers could have been the worst team of all time.

I think we need a Tape Measure check. Wrap a Tape Measure around your head at the Forehead, and if the circumference is larger than a basketball due to a massive sloped forehead, then you cannot post.

Rays sign Jose Molina to a 1-year deal. The Rays previously traded their catcher John Jaso to Seattle in return for pitcher Josh Lueke and either cash or a player to be announced later.

CJ Wilson currently having meetings with the Marlins after earlier having talks with the Angels. Those 2 teams along with the Rangers are the frontrunners to get him right now.

Red Sox temporarily stopped their manager search after it was reported neither Bobby Valentine nor Gene Lamont got any official offers from the team.
