Honestly, speaking of his "in ring charisma" and intensity. You could argue that it was that intensity that was growing and growing into what it eventually became.

He wrestled in an era where people were exaggerated versions of themselves in the ring. It isn't a stretch to suggest that we were watching a very angry/intense man doing a lot less acting and a lot more being himself.

It's uncomfortable to watch someone called the Rabid Wolverine and Crippler, with his intensity, when we know what he eventually did with that intensity and "silent but violent" persona.

I totally respect him as the greatest worker I've ever seen. I really fucking hate him for what he did. But like the OJ comparison, I am able to look past it. I don't judge him during his matches anymore, that wasn't the guy who killed his family. He changed, he snapped, and that wasn't the Benoit in NJPW, WCW, or WWE. That weekend of his life he changed into a different person. I made this thread because when I watch him now, I'm so saddened by the greatest worker of all time having to be erased from public history because of his horrible crime.

Can you just imagine Benoit now? He'd be a part timer, lighting it up with Rollins, he'd have faced Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens... imagine him and Roman, that would have been so fucking intense. We'd be clamoring for him to come out of retirement for a one off at WM with Nakamura.

Never really went out of my way to watch his matches in the first place. He had some good ones but overall he was pretty boring. Ending of WrestleMania 20 was already ruined for me way before he murdered people.
