I'm a big fan of Kevin Owens, but John Cena is just the complete package. At this point in his career, he exhibits absolutely everything you could ever want in a marquee name for your company. Owens is more of a 'wrestler's wrestler', I'm sure, but Cena out-classes him. My opinion may change after a few more years and an Owens face run at a high level, but for now, I'm voting Cena.

Cena, but I think that could change with a few more years. Owens is better in the ring and just as good on the mic. His biggest pitfalls are his look and lack of big moments, but one of those may very well change in time. As of now though Cena's on a completely different plain of existence.

Owens is great but he's just too new for me to give it to him for this round.

Yup. Owens has a long way to go in his career until he can touch John Cena.
Cena gets my vote pretty handily here. |

Voted for Cena.
Mostly because of his longevity as a mega star and pretty much being the focus of a whole era that still hasn't finished yet. Owens gets the nod in terms of being more consistent with in-ring skills and the better mega feud (Owens vs Sami against Cena vs Orton) but Cena beats him in terms of having more big memorable moments and being a mainstream star. |

Longer career so far and he's younger. It's the Kevin Owens show. Better matches but not on the big wwe stage until recently.
This should be closer. |

Owens can do movez, is a confident talker and has managed to put everything together in a way that he seems like a bad-ass when he's put against the right guy (someone who isn't both taller and wider). His psychology in the ring puts me to sleep though, and I do think he has limits when it comes to who you can push him against.
Cena has become the total package in a wrestler. I wanted him to go away, but that was right up until he put over Bryan at SummerSlam 2013. Then there was the Brock squash. Since then he has been tremendous, and any missteps have been the company's with him. Although Cena has been in the spotlight a lot longer than Owens, it should be pointed out that he has only been doing this a year longer than Owens. Cena is just big time. |

Cena.
Owens is fucking brilliant, but Cena has had 10+ years as THE man. Cena should be, and I'm fairly confident he will be, in the hall of fame. |

Come on. No one here is a bigger fan of Kevin Steen than I am, but no. Steen might have been a better wrestler in 2007-2008, but since then Cena has improved so much, and even then in 2007 it'd still be hard to argue Steen over Cena, you'd just have the staleness of 2007 rubbing off and it might be a closer vote, that would be the only reason.

The poll is "Better Wrestler" not "Better Superstar." Cena has a very limited moveset. Whenever he expands it to any degree it comes out looking wonky. Memba his hurricanrana or his springboard stunner? He isn't on the level of "has to be carried by a real performer to a good match" but he won't carry anyone else either. I don't think anyone doubts Owen's skills in the ring and has a young Bam Bam Bigelow quality to him of "big guy who does shit you don't expect him to".
My vote is Owens. |

Goes back to the age old debate from the last series on how people were defining "better wrestler", upon which it was concluded that everybody just has different notions and criteria as to what that means..... and they are all valid......

What Lock Jaw said. No one said that we're voting on who wrestlers the better matches. In fact if I recall correctly the OP flat out said that "better wrestler" is open to your own interpretation. Personally I look at it on many factors because to me what makes a good wrestler is how well he can do his job overall, and being a wrestler is about a lot more than just putting on 5 star matches.

Yeah, part of a wrestler's job is to sell matches, tickets and merchandise. I take a more holistic view to what makes a wrestler rather than just execution of moves.

They seem to make a different KO shirt every other month so he must be selling the shit out of them.

Cena, easily all day.
Off topic but is there something wrong with Owens and his gut? Not knocking the guy or anything but it just seems weird that he can maintain that sort of physique with the workload I am sure he is under in the WWE. I'm under no illusion that working matches makes you a muscle bound freak but surely the cardio of matches is pretty good and he just seems so out of proportion. |

I'm like the opposite of Owens.
No matter what I do or how hard I try, I'm always quite thin, which is annoying. |
