Austin never had a bad opinion of Lesnar, just the way they were going to have Lesnar roll over austin on raw or a minor PPV like it was no big deal.
He had no problem even putting over Lesnar as long as it had proper build. I agree with him. Should have been something that was built up to wrestlemania. |

I don't know the full story. I just remember it apparently playing a large part in Austin's decision to leave the company. I do agree with him there, with the match likely being huge. If they had convinced Austin to take some time off, and treated everything right, then Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship could have very easily headlined WrestleMania 21 and been a huge main event.

Austin, Rock and Foley won the Monday Night Wars for Vince. If Vince showed as much loyalty to his own employees as he expects from them he probably wouldn't have lost Brock Lesnar.
