Dick Beyer coached wrestling at a rival high school where I grew up. Back then I had never even heard of the destroyer, butI still find it pretty cool. I also became friends with someone from that school in college and it turned out Beyer was one of the most beloved members of that community and a genuinely awesome human being.

Ah yeah, seems about right. 5 used to be the magic number for Takeover shows, so I might be conflating that. They can always throw out something else for the card if they haven’t already.

As for the lack of straight one-on-one matches: Eh, with so few matches, I can see it being totally accidental. But maybe their thinking is to really emphasize the Rollins/Nakamura match?

This collaboration not only signifies a mutual partnership but also symbolizes a shared commitment to the growth and evolution of professional wrestling. May have been true at one point, but now people actually get better at the Performance Center. Look at Julius Creed for example. Dude wrestles like Kenny Omega on crack, but somehow tries to make it make sense. Wrestling outside WWE isn’t very good.
