Say if I were to put Nero on this computer, does it come with it's own dvd decoder, or will I still need to find one?
I installed XP with an OEM copy, that's why I need it. |

What do you mean DVD decoder? One that will rip DVDs onto your hard drive?
Try DVDFab 5. You can download a free version at their website if you Google the name. PM me for the serial. |

P.S. Nero won't decode protected DVDs, so yes, you have to find something else.

The codec to play DVDs. I think I found one. It's downloading now though so I'm not 100%.

That's what I ended up using, VLC. I had a couple downloaded from torrents that were suppose to make DVD playback with WMP work. They didn't work. I hate having 2 media players now, but whatever.

If you are looking for a light weight go for the k-lite codec package.

Yeah I dunno why Windows just doesn't come with the ability to play DVDs. Come on.

I have used VLC for years. It is the only thing I use for videos. Runs pretty much most anything.
