I almost always agree with CyNick, but I just don't tonight. I thought tonight's RAW went really well.
So what if it took 15 guys to take down Triple H? I know it makes the babyfaces look weak, but the babyfaces look weak when they're jobbing to him one-by-one anyway. At least this way it's something different than feeding Trips a new flavor of the month. He's already run through Jericho, Benoit, and Orton individually, but the three of them united gives the RAW main event something it hasn't had: a group that could legitimately (in the fans' eyes) take apart Evolution. Plus, you've got your RAW main event for Survivor Series all lined up. Orton, Benoit, Jericho, and Maven (I'd prefer Shelton, but...) vs. Evolution and Edge. Maybe throw in a stipulation that if the face team wins, the survivors all get title shots (similar to the "Bischoff favor" storyline from last year). Obviously, Maven gets eliminated, and they could screw Orton out of a win, but set up a Trips/Benoit/Jericho match for the Rumble. I'm not crazy about them re-running the entire Eugene/Bischoff segment from Taboo Tuesday, but it sort of laid the groundwork for the whole "inmates running the asylum" storyline. If Bischoff can't even get his production crew to not run that humiliating video, what control does he have left? Hopefully, this leads to something big. That "big angle" that everyone has been looking for (and that LC made a thread about). The Shelton/Jericho match was very good. Shelton looked like a legit champion and - even though he lost - Jericho came out looking very good. Plus, with Jericho out of the IC hunt, it put him in position for the Evolution confrontation. Plus, any time Christian is feuding for a title, you've got potential gold on your hands. I wish Regal hadn't been jobbed out so fast to Snitsky, but it did an excellent job of making Snitsky look invincible. He took out Kane at Taboo Tuesday, and then he just picked apart somebody that JR is always talking about as one of the toughest competitors on the roster. Plus, any show where we get commercials for "Halo 2" and "SmackDown vs. RAW" gets an A in my book. This was one of the best RAWs in a long time, and for the first time in months, I can't wait for Monday to see what happens next. |

In this situation, it's not a good idea to put orton on the same level as HHH. By making orton an underdog it's going to make the match, and the feud in general much more exciting. Of course its going to take a group of guys to take out HHH. He is the top heel in the company. I think it was great that it took all the faces to take him down, because the more powerful you make the heel look, the face who beats him is going to get even more over. And I think thats what they need to do to make orton a beleivable champ. |

Also, I must of missed something, but were there any reprecussions for flair's sportsmanship on tuesday? I wasn't expecting anything major, but it seems hard to beleive they wouldn't follow up at all. It seemed like nothing happened.

Or they could fool us all and have Orton lose the Rumble....and lets say they give the winner [Benoit/Micheals/Edge etc.] of it a shot at HHH the next week on RAW... Orton interferes and the challenger wins...thenyou get Orton/HHH WM non-title..
or WWE could be predictable and Orton wins the rumble |

First, they make guys like Jericho, Benoit, Maven, and Benjamin look weak because they're arguing iwith Triple H, like he's the damn general manager or some sort of a God. Why is he such a force to be reckoned with? Because he's the World Heavyweight Champion and the leader of Evolution? Yeah right. All it does is inadvertantly make Triple H and Evolution look even stronger by making these guys look lower than them. The ending was simply a message: Evolution is dominant and it takes the whole fuckin' roster just to get a hit on them. That's pretty damn sad when Evolution only consists of three people, and the RAW roster consists of about 25, with many guys bigger or at least as threatening as Flair, Batista and Triple H. In the end, the whole gang-beating thing was all about Randy Orton vs. Triple H. Stephanie booked that ending because it made everyone else's little angles and storylines (such as they are) look insignificant to the real deal, and the real deal is Orton vs. Triple H. |

No matter what face beats him, no one will ever look stronger than Triple H on RAW. Benoit beat him at Mania, and he's not doing shit now, and doesn't look any more credible than he did before. Benjamin beat him twice, and he may be the Intercontinental Champion, but those wins really haven't done much for his career other than that initial boost, which he could've garnered in other ways. I think it's pathetic when the only way to get a wrestler over on RAW is to have him beat Triple H. Really lowers the whole standard of the product. |
