Yeah, that thing Tony's flying up to is a portal in the same vein as the ones seen in Thor and Captain America. There are fighter jet things, though. Loki is technically the heir to the Frost Giant thrown, he probably cashed in on that.

THe Cosmic cube certainly plays a role in this one. Loki has it. The Cube allows him to summon armies of sorts?

I dunno, I know alot of the source material but am far from an expert or anything so I not sure who all could be involved. OBviously Loki uses the Cube to open a gate to Earth, but seems like its only Giants/Maybe Elves in Thors world - as I dont think they have left anyone else open in Stark/Hulk/Captains stories.

I really hope they make the Hulk the key to this movie though. He is by far the most powerful of them all. Love me some Hulk.

I noticed at one point it looks like something is putting on Iron Mans armor, but it is silver...War Machine going to be in this?

That's a good answer, but she didn't come off as Earth's Mightiest Hero in Iron Man 2...not even top 100.

Wouldn't have minded them bringing in another female, although I'm hard-pressed for a good choice. Scarlet Witch wasn't terrible...well, when she wasn't banging her brother.

I kinda agree with DTTS.
While it is "cool" they have Scarlett..her "powers" or rather abilities seem a bit out of place. But whatever.
The Scarlet Witch would had been cool..but I think explaining her powers alone would take like 30 minutes.

She's not meant to be an in your face, heavy hitter. In the Marvel Universe, she is one of, if not the most deadly espionage agents on the planet. She's the recon/intelligence member of the team.

Also, there was an interview with Whedon a while back, where he said that a big part of the movie is how these characters get along and come to trust one another. A part of that story is how Widow and Hawkeye are soldiers put in a position out of their comfort zone, where they have to work with these heroes who basically just walked into a position that they themselves strived there whole life to achieve.

It adds an interesting dynamic that I'd much rather see, than just adding another powered female, simply for the sake of flash and style.

While the Super Heroes are going at it, Humaity cant just be expected to sit by and hope for the best. Of course they would put their best people out there. While She may not be as strong as Hulk, she can still fuck some shit up.

I'm fine with that argument, I just feel like she doesn't come off as someone who can do a lot of damage. If she did I'd be pretty happy. It feels like she should be on the support team and not necessarily the First String.

If the movie is good though, I imagine I won't care.

When I think Avengers, I think of characters like Black Widow and Hawkeye so it's a-okay with me.

From what I've seen of the film I'm not very excited. I enjoyed Iron Man and I felt that I'd had my fill by the end of 2. I also enjoyed Captain America but by the end of the film he's lost everything that makes him interesting and now he's just a beefy man. Scarlett is good at playing disaffected characters and is a terminally uninteresting choice as she's someone who can look attractive and yet completely boring at the same time. The Hulk will always be boring as a superhero over a horror/drama character. I also don't like Joss Whedon.

That's what I was thinking.

Bearing in mind with this being a movie and set in the real world, Skrulls wouldn't be bright green with bright purple space suits.

Seems believable enough to me that these are Skrulls. And it'd make perfect sense for the Avengers.
